Rollin “Gene” Underwood of Campbellsville, son of the late Leslie Underwood and Elsie Berry Underwood Pierce, was born July 22, 1932 in Taylor County. He died at 6:35 P.M., Sunday, October 22, 2023 in Elizabethtown. Age: 91
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He served his country honorably in the United States Army.
Gene was an employee of Thor Power Tool and later retired from Fermi-Lab. Gene loved his family very much. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed bowling, car shows and bird watching.
He united in marriage to Shirley “Cindy” Wright and she preceded him in death. He later united in marriage to Mary Katherine Hudson June 23, 1999. Besides his wife, Mary K. Underwood of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and four daughters: Ron Underwood and wife, Kristine of Avondale, Arizona, Debbie Craft and husband, Tom of Lakeland Florida, Anita Katherine Watts of Smyrna, Tennessee, Linda Stuteville and husband, Sam of Sonora, Kentucky and Julie Curtis and husband, David of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; seven grandchildren: Carla Richardson, Cory Craft, Troy Vinson, Emily Watts, Chris Lucas, Levi Curtis and Malia Curtis; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers and two sisters: Odell Underwood, Kenny Lee Pierce, Naomi Hoepner and Louise Manasco; and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Earl Underwood, Gerald “T” Underwood and Howard Underwood.

Junior Ray Parson, of Campbellsville, the son of the late Hayes and Mazetta (Norris) Parson, was born April 16, 1941 in Metcalfe County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 in Campbellsville at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 82 years of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Jesus Name Church. He was a former maintenance and construction employee for the State of Kentucky, a constable, and was a member of the Pitman Masonic Lodge # 124 F&AM.
Junior enjoyed mowing and caretaking of the Arrowhead Ranch in Campbellsville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Lois Kendall and Gladys and Marcella Parson as infants.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years: Zelma Faye (Smith) Parson of Campbellsville; a daughter: Margaret Parson and husband Jeff Wheat of Campbellsville; two sons: Roy Parson and wife Dorothy of Russell Springs and Keith Wayne Parson and companion: Monica of Winchester.
Also a brother: Wayne Parson of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Jason Tucker and wife Brandy, Megan Couarrubias and husband Seth, Shawna Shuffett and husband John and Lily Parson; three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Junior Ray Parson will be Saturday, October 24, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Elder Rueal Boils will be officiating.
Visitation after 11:00 A.M. until time for the service
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society, both can be made at the funeral home.
Masonic service will be conducted at approx. 2:00 P.M. in the chapel at the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Paul Shively of Campbellsville, son of the late Robert Shively and Nannie Harden Shively, was born March 24, 1943 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 5:54 A.M., Saturday, October 21, 2023 in Campbellsville. Age: 80
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.
Paul Shively was a friend to many and a stranger to no one. If you were fortunate enough to know him, you knew that he loved his family and had an unwavering faith in Jesus. A natural hard worker, Paul retired from Parker-Kalon but also owned and operated a logging and sawmill business. Even in retirement, he was often asked to “walk timber” and mark trees for people. Paul also enjoyed taking care of his farm where he raised livestock, tobacco, corn, beans, and hay.
Paul united in marriage to Sherry Wise August 28, 1971.
Besides his wife, Sherry Shively of Campbellsville, Paul is survived by three sons and two daughters: Phil Shively of Columbus, Indiana, Adrian Shively and wife Sara, Chad Shively and wife Bethany, Sharon Bland and husband Dwayne and Karen Curry and husband John all of Campbellsville; thirteen grandchildren: Sydney Reynolds and husband Will, Jake Shively, Noah Shively, Levi Shively and wife Mariah, Layne Shively, Landon Shively and wife Maci, Emma Shively, Ellis Shively, Ella Shively, Tyler Benningfield and wife Candace, Keenan Shively, Micah Shively and Kassondra Cook and husband David all of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Paul was also preceded in death by six brothers and one sister: Robert Shively, William Shively, Leroy Shively, Charles Shively, Buddy Rouse, Fred Rouse and Emma Hourigan.
