Margaret Phillips McDonald

Margaret Phillips McDonald of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Clarence Sheppard Phillips and Eliza Jane Woodrum Phillips, was born September 4, 1920 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She died at 10:50 A.M., Monday, August 15, 2022 in Campbellsville.   Age:  101

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Margaret was a homemaker and pastor’s wife, always cooking, offering hospitality and taking care of others in need.

She united in marriage to Dr. L. Rodford McDonald May 30, 1942 and he preceded her in death March 19, 2005.

Margaret is survived by several nieces and nephews:  Nancy Phillips Reathaford and Marilyn Phillips Saline and Ronnie Phillips and wife, Jane of Galesburg, Illinois, Virginia Sue Stephens Bannon of Crawfordsville, Indiana, Allen Stephens and wife, Anne of Carmel, Indiana, Melissa Phillips Cooper and husband, Eric of Brownsburg, Indiana, Linda Wise Cunningham and husband, Doug of Lexington and Cindy Wise McIntire and husband, Terry of Houston, Texas and locally, by one great-niece and one great-nephew:  Stacey Sapp Arnett and husband, Jerry and Dwight Sapp and wife, Kim of Campbellsville and several other great-nieces and great-nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Margaret was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters:  Wesley Phillips, Wallace Phillips, Sam E. Phillips, Myrtle Wise, Alta Stephens and Grace Wise.

Rex Harrison, 71

Mr. Rex Allen Harrison of Campbellsville passed from this life on Friday, August 12, 2022 in Danville at the Select Specialty Hospital. He was 71 years of age.

He was a retired carpenter from Building Concepts, Inc. and Gabehart Lumber, and was of the Christian faith.

He was the son of the late Wilford and Miriam Evelyn (Smith) Harrison. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Demesia Harrison, and a sister, Patsy Vandivier.

Survivors include his children: Charisse LaBoyteaux and husband Terry, and Benjamin Harrison and companion Bethany Anderson; four siblings: Shirley Carew of Florida, and Steve Harrison and wife Bonnie, Jimmy Harrison, and Carol Sheckles, all of Indiana; eight grandchildren: Ayden, Zane, Creed, Callie, Tanner, Sydney, Olivia and Penelope; a great-grandchild: Alistair; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Rex Allen Harrison will be Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the Campbellsville Chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. on Saturday until time for the service.

Dollie Jane Harrison Cruse

Dollie Jane Harrison Cruse of Campbellsville, daughter of Mary Aileen Wise Harrison and the late Woodruff Joe Harrison, was born October 23, 1950 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She died at 3:20 A.M., Thursday, August 11, 2022 in Elizabethtown.   Age:  71

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Green River Memorial Baptist Church where she served in many roles including a Sunday School Teacher for twenty plus years.

Dollie was a retired manager with Green River Lake State Park.

She united in marriage to Harold Cruse August 15, 1970.

Besides her husband, Harold Cruse of Campbellsville, Dollie is survived by two sons:  Eric Cruse and wife, Misty of Louisville and Adam Cruse and wife, Janie of Mt. Washington; four grandchildren:  Chloe Cruse, Carson Cruse, Allie Cruse and Clay Cruse;  her mother, Mary Aileen Harrison of Louisville; two sisters:  Martha Sue Ferguson of Shepherdsville and Jo Anna Akin and husband, Norman of Louisville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends including special friend, Ashley Thomas of Campbellsville.

VISITATION: 10:00 – 1:00 P.M., Monday
