Walter Ettel of Clarksville, Indiana, son of the late Edward Lewis Ettel and Grace Truman Huffman Ettel Blum, was born April 30, 1934 in Clarksville, Indiana. He died at 12:30 P.M., Monday, November 3, 2025 in Louisville. Age: 91
He professed faith in Christ and worshipped at Crossroads Community Church.
Walter was a retired electrician maintenance foreman for United Technologies.
He united in marriage to Virginia Berry June 16, 1952.
Besides his wife, Virginia Ettel of Clarksville, Indiana, Walter is survived by one son and three daughters: Terry Ettel and wife, Donna, Karen Stone and husband, Rick, Barbara “Babs” Hurst and husband, David and Ginger King and husband, Ray; six grandchildren:
Rick Stone and wife, Amanda, Tiffany Marsh and husband, Ryan, Loriann Quinn and husband, Eric, Rachel Ettel, Douglas Ettel and wife, Sarah and Kaycee Stone and husband, Shawn Rigney; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Malcolm Ettel and wife, Charlene; in-laws: Roy Berry, James Berry and wife, Nelda and Doyle Berry and wife, Joyce; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Jim Howard of Campbellsville, son of Bettye Faye Hagan Howard and the late William Jerry Howard, was born September 16, 1958 in Dayton, Ohio. He died at 1:32 P.M., Monday, November 3, 2025 in Lexington. Age: 67
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Roberts Baptist Church.
Jim served his country honorably in the United States Air Force.
He was a retired manager of PPG Paints and oversaw the top store in the United States.
He united in marriage to Nancy Denny August 8, 2008.
Jim enjoyed his boat and fishing.
Besides his wife, Nancy Howard of Campbellsville, he is survived by one daughter, the apple of his eye and the joy of his heart, Samantha Howard of Maryland; his mother, Bettye Faye Hagan Howard; one brother and three sisters: Sandra Lynn Duff and husband, Kenneth of Alabama, Sarah Ann Howard of Ohio, Stephen Mark Howard and wife, Susan Ann of Maryland and Deborah Sue Super of Florida; one brother-in-law, Steve Denny and wife, Amy of Maryland; one sister-in-law, Carol Denny of Virginia; his fur babies: Duffy and Snickers; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Jim was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Edward Howard.

Jewell Rattliff of Louisville, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Clarence Merritt and Lottie Parrott Merritt, was born February 27, 1932, in Taylor County, Kentucky and graduated from Campbellsville High School in 1950. She died at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2025 in Louisville surrounded by family at age 93.
She professed faith in Christ and was a long-time member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. Jewell united in marriage to Herman W. Rattliff on March 18, 1951, who preceded her in death.
Jewell was primarily a homemaker but also worked part-time for Supertone Studios and created many transparent oil masterpieces before color photography became widely available. She was active in the lives of her children, chaperoning band trips, attending ball games and always being supportive.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Brian Rattliff and wife Beth of Louisville; one grandson, Cameron Rattliff and wife Natalie of Charlestown; two great-grandchildren, Colton Rattliff and Ella Rattliff; two sisters, Janet Vest and Helen Merritt of Cincinnati; numerous loving nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kristi Rattliff Hickerson.
