Bradley Eugene Callahan, 86

Posted by on Jun 20, 2025

Mr. Bradley Eugene Callahan passed from this life on June 18, 2025 in Louisville after an extended illness. Born in Adair County on June 6, 1939, he was 86 years of age. Mr. Callahan was a former farmer and had also worked tirelessly as a logger and tree trimmer. He was a man of many hobbies, but he was most passionate about time spent with his family. Although he loved relaxing with a western movie on TV, he spent a great deal of his years instilling a solid work ethic in his grandchildren, and cherished the times his great-grandson Carson helped tend to his rental properties. His love for his wife was paramount to all of that; not a day went by that he didn’t express his heartfelt fondness for her.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

The Bonnie to his Clyde, his beloved wife: Mrs. Linda (Reed) Callahan,

Three children: Carolyn Ford of Elk Horn, Ronnie Callahan of Greensburg, and Connie Burress and husband Jimmy of Elk Horn,

Eleven grandchildren, including Ricky Ford, Jr. and wife Shelly, David Ford and wife Krissie, and Carson Ford,

A special nephew: Larry Clements,

And a host of other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Coy and Eva (Wise) Callahan; a son-in-law, Ricky Ford; a daughter, Juanita Callahan Tucker; and seven siblings: Margaret Stultz, Virginia Ewing, Mattie Belle Callahan, Harold Callahan, Eddie Callahan, Coy Callahan, and David Callahan; and one grandchild.

The funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Callahan on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM EDT (10:00 AM CDT) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home.

 Bro. Fred Sheridan will officiate.

He will be laid to rest in the Callahan Cemetery in Feathersburg.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 22, from 5:00-8:00 PM EDT (4:00-7:00 PM CDT).
