David Lee Harrison

David Lee Harrison, son of the late Charles Lee “Cotton” Harrison and Joan Wintsch Harrison, was born in Campbellsville, Kentucky on June 27, 1951.  He died at 8:05 P.M., Sunday, January 1, 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee at age 71.

David professed faith in Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church of Bowling Green, Kentucky.  He was united in marriage to Patty Lynn Kearney on June 1, 1974.

He is survived by his wife, Patty Kearney Harrison of Bowling Green, his daughter and son-in-law, Natalie Harrison Cline and Robbie Cline, and his grandsons, Harrison Cline and Collin Cline of Gallatin, Tennessee.

David graduated from Campbellsville High School (1969) and the University of Kentucky (1974) and was a career accountant.  A whiz with numbers, he was known for his ability to be a human calculator.  David was also an avid sports fan and kept everyone up to date on the latest sports news and statistics, particularly for his beloved Kentucky Wildcats.  David enjoyed puzzles, games, mapping out his family’s journeys and trying new restaurants.  Most of all, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family and cheering on his daughter and grandsons.  His gentle “I love yous” and hugs from his tall, comforting frame will stay with us always.

Gary Paul Heinbaugh

Mr. Gary Paul Heinbaugh passed peacefully from this life on Monday, January 2, 2023 in Louisville at Baptist Health. Born in Altoona, PA to the late Merle Elvin Heinbaugh and Helen Louise Baker Heinbaugh on April 15, 1961, he was 61 years of age at the time of his death. He was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Heinbaugh served his country honorably in the United States Army and had served in Somalia and had received numerous commendations. Mr. Heinbaugh was retired from the Veterans Administration – Grayson County CBOC where he worked as a nurse. He leaves to cherish his memory:

His wife: Patricia Ann Reed Heinbaugh

One daughter: Britney Marie Hutcheson and husband Nick of Bowling Green, KY

Five sisters: Catherine Louise McKee, E. Jane Millward and husband Jerry, Carol Ann Stevens, Patricia L. Gauthier and husband Don, and Susan M. Golden and husband Sam.

One Grandson: Gavyn Hutcheson and an expected granddaughter Selene Hutcheson

His Mother-in-Law: Mary Reed

A chosen son: Cody Salsman

His service dog: Meeko

And a host of other relatives and friends.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Gary Paul Heinbaugh on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville, KY with burial to follow in the Lebanon National Cemetery will full military honors by the Marion County DAV Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 at 10:00 AM until time for the service.

Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans.

John Smothers

John Smothers, 56, of Lebanon, Kentucky, son of the late James Smothers and Eva Mae Mattingly was born January 22nd, 1966, in Marion County and departed this life on Thursday, December 29th, 2022, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.

John professed faith in Christ and was of Baptist faith. He was a former employee of US Chita Co Ltd in Lebanon. He had a passion for UK Basketball and loved collecting Matchbox cars and watching Star Wars with his family.

He is survived by:

One daughter: Tiffany Pickard and husband, Brian, of Campbellsville, KY.

One son: Nicholas Smothers of Bowling Green, KY.

Three grandchildren: Kennedy Pickard, Briley Pickard, and John Abel Pickard, all of Campbellsville.

Three sisters: Shirley Baird of Mt. Washington, Shelia Gill of Lexington, and Amy Burnside of Bardstown.

Also, a furry companion, Bootsie.

Several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by:

Two brothers and one sister: James Terry Smothers, Ruth Anne Hagy, and Gary Lee Smothers.

One nephew: Joseph Robert Hagy.

VISITATION: Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.

FUNERAL: Thursday, January 5th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.

Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.

Family request that expressions of sympathy be taken in the form of donations to Gideon Bibles and can be made at the funeral home.
