James Lloyd Capps

James Lloyd Capps, 94, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, formerly of Smith Ridge, Kentucky, son of the late George Fayette Capps and Jenny Carmon Spear Capps, was born June 9th, 1927, in Cumberland County and departed this life on Friday, January 8th, 2022, at Taylor County Regional Hospital.
He professed his faith in Christ and a member of Robinson Creek Baptist Church. He served as a deacon and was instrumental of building the new church. Lloyd enjoyed farming and owned a car dealership for many years.
Survived by two sisters: Eva Mintz of Schererville, Indiana and Loletta Kidd of Campbellsville, Kentucky.
Twenty One Nieces and Nephews: Carmon Shires and her husband, David, of Lewisville, Texas; Lois Buck and her husband, Todd, of Plano, Texas; Danny Lovett of Campbellsville, Kentucky; David Lovett of Athens, Texas; Ruth Foster and her husband, Chuck, of Athens, Texas; Norma Simpson and her husband, Danny, of Campbellsville, Kentucky; Linda Wethington and fiance Albert Parrott of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Faye Wilcox of Portland, Tennessee; George Mullins and his wife, Margaret, of Cincinnati, Ohio; Marietta Mullins of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Roger Dale and Julie Capps of Port Huron, Michigan; Norman Capps and his wife, Charlotte, of Lima, Ohio, Regina Evans and her husband, Boyd, of Wapakoneta, Ohio; Jimmy Phillips and his wife, Janet, of Robards, Kentucky; Marie Stuecker and her husband, Jim, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Paul Phillips and his wife, Linnea, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; George Phillips of Nicholasville, Kentucky; Ken Button and his wife, Carol, of Akron, Ohio; Karen Kroczek and her husband, Thomas, of Munster, Indiana; Mindy Mordecai of Baltimore, Maryland; and Michael Mintz of Munster, Indiana.
Besides his parents, Lloyd is preceded in death by:
One brother and four sisters: Edward Capps, Aria Mullins, Francis Phillips, Ina Lovett, and Mary Edna Capps.
Two nieces and one nephew: Betty Cornett, Nancy Moore, and Donald Mullins.

VISITATION: Tuesday, January 11th, 2022, from 11am – 2pm EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.

FUNERAL: Tuesday, January 11th, 2022, at 2pm EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.

Bro. Dan Durham will be officiating the service.

Pallbearers are Norman B Capps, Danny Lovett, George Mullins, Norman Simpson, Eddie Capps, Jimmy Phillips, and Danny Simpson.

Burial to follow at Brookside Cemetery.

Michael Burress, 38

Mr. Michael Lynn Burress of Lexington, formerly of Campbellsville, passed from this life on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at his home. Born in Taylor County on March 26, 1983 to Karen (Cox) and the late Stevie Michael Burress, he was 38 years of age. Mr. Burress was a former welder for Portland Forge in Lebanon. He was a cherished son, brother, and uncle, and will be missed by many.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

His mother: Karen Humphress of Elk Horn,

Two siblings: Eric Humphress and Brook Bell and husband Levi, all of Campbellsville,

Niece and nephew: Maxton Down and Aspen Bell,

Grandparents: Rose and Jerry Cox of Speck Ridge,

His stepfather: Keith Humphress and wife Jane of Campbellsville,

And a host of other family and friends.

The family chose cremation. All services were performed privately. Rev. Jim Murphy officiated.

Margaret LaPradd, 79

Margaret Ann (Jones) Lapradd, the daughter of the late Roy and Ida Faye Jones, was born January 31, 1942 in West Virginia and departed this life on January, 5, 2022 in Greensburg at the Green Hill Manor. She was 79 years of age.

She was a homemaker and was of the Church of God Faith.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters: JoAnn LaPradd and Deena Richerson and five brothers: Johnny, Bobby, Lester, Lloyd and Jack Jones and a sister: Juanita Lee.

Survivors include four children: Sandra Benton and husband Kenny, Debra Wheeler and husband Steven and Cynthia Wheeler and husband Larry, all of Campbellsville and Steve LaPradd and wife Jennifer of Munfordville; two brothers and a sister: Charlie Jones and wife Cheryl of Ohio and Tim Jones and wife Kelly all of Campbellsville and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Family requests visitation from 12-1 PM on Monday, January 10, 2022 at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home followed by a PRIVATE service.

Interment will be in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
