Rodger D. Williams

Rodger D. Williams, 80, of Campbellsville, son of the late David Williams and Eunice Stayton Williams was born July 28th, 1944 in Campbellsville. He departed this life on Monday, January 27th, 2025 at his home in Campbellsville.

 

Rodger united in marriage to Ms. Paulette Shipp on May 18th, 1963. She survives.

Rodger was a retired bus driver for the Taylor County School Systems. He served as a deputy sheriff serving under Sheriff John Shipp. He also worked in the family-owned business, Williams Furniture, in Elk Horn. Rodger served honorably in the United States Navy. Rodger professed faith in Christ and was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

 

Besides his wife, Rodger is survived by:

Two children: Michelle Leach and her husband, Brian, of Campbellsville; and Tony Williams of Campbellsville

One granddaughter, Brianne Mingey and her husband, Seth, of Rineyville

One great-granddaughter, Amory Brooke Mingey of Rineyville

A host of other family and friends

 

Rodger was preceded in death by:

One brother, Jerry Williams on October 8th, 2023

 

VISITATION: Wednesday, January 29th, 2025 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.

 

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Wednesday, January 29th, 2025 at 7:00 pm at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville. Visitation will resume following the service.

 

Expressions of sympathy may be in the form of donations to Gideon Bibles and may be made at the funeral home.

James Perry Reams

James Perry Reams, 80, of Elizabethtown, son of the late William “Bo” Reams and Lois Andrews Reams was born February 14th, 1944 in Lamont, FL. He departed this life on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
Perry united in marriage to Ms. Jane Diana Wingate on November 12th, 1982. She survives.
Perry built custom homes for more than 30 years. He served his country honorably as a Green Beret in the Army Special Forces. Perry professed faith in Christ and was a member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church.

Besides his wife, Perry is survived by:
Two children: Keith Reams and his wife, Cindy, of San Diego, CA; and Jamie Reams of Monticello, Florida
Three stepchildren: Cindy Bunnell of Campbellsville; Diana Talley and her husband, Michael, of Elizabethtown; and William LaDue of Oviedo, Florida
Four grandchildren: Sarah Bunnell of Campbellsville; John Talley of Elizabethtown; Bobby Talley and his wife, Mary, of Irvington; and Marsha Talley of Elizabethtown
Two great-grandchildren: Alissa Talley of Irvington; and Kevin Talley of Irvington
Two sisters and two brothers: Annette Hughes and her husband, Dale, of Crawfordsville, FL; Paul Reams of Tallahassee, FL; Alan Reams and his wife, Paula, of Tallahassee, FL; and Vivian Hudson and her husband, Larry, of Carson City, NV
A host of other family and friends

Perry was preceded in death by:
One brother, Harvey Reams
One step-son, James LaDue

VISITATION: Friday, January 31st, 2025 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.

FUNERAL: Friday, January 31st, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville with entombment to follow at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Pastor Dave Griesemer will be officiating.

Shirley Elaine Burress

Shirley Elaine Burress, of Campbellsville, KY, the daughter of the late Bradley Ansel and Lula Candis (Bolt) Baldwin was born January 3, 1963, in Louisville and departed this life on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, in Nashville at Vanderbilt University Hospital. She was 62 years of age.

She was a former employee of Fruit of The Loom and OshKosh B’gosh. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church. She enjoyed bingo, church, sewing, quilting, and spending time with her family and her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother: Sherrill Randall Baldwin, and a great-granddaughter: Luna Bollman.

Survivors include two sons: Todd Burress and Chad Burress and wife Melody all of Campbellsville. Five grandchildren: Felicity Smothers (Kenzie), Emily Kerns, Izak Burress, Madison Burress, and Octavia Burress. Two great-grandchildren: Olivia Bollman, and Ashton Bollman.

Also two brothers and three sisters: Jimmy Baldwin (Marian), Mike Baldwin (Lisa), Judy Hampton, Jennifer Graham (Frankie), Denise Graham (Marshall) all of Campbellsville and a half-sister, Ann Nunn of Greensburg, and a sister-in-law, Tammy Baldwin of Mt. Washington, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Shirley Elaine Burress will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 27, 2025, at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with interment in the Callahan Cemetery at Elk Horn.

Bro. Doug Baldwin will be officiating

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In Lieu of Flowers the family request donations to the funeral expense fund and those can be made at the funeral home.
