Henry Layman Damron, 75

Henry Layman Damron, of Glasgow, the son of the late Millard Curtis and Ruth Catherine (Brown) Damron was born July 7, 1946 in Wayne County, West Virginia and departed this life on Saturday in Glasgow at his home. He was 75 years of age.

He was a surface miner, where he was the lead blaster, a former truck driver and a auto mechanic for Charles Nolley and was of the Baptist Faith.

He was a Veteran of Vietnam, having service in the United States Marine Corp.

Henry founded the Giles County (TN) Veterans Honor Guard and was a past post commander of the American Legion #60 in Tennessee.

He enjoyed motorcycles and loved music, having played the keyboard for Tru Dynasty.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Donald, Curtis and Charles Damron.

Survivors include four children: Sherry Damron-Arnett and husband JD of Magnolia, Rev. Jay Damron and wife Cindy of Edmonton, Jeff Robertson of Pulaski, TN and Jennifer Cordial and husband Jason of Louisa; a brother: John Paul Damron of Pulaski, TN.

Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren: Shawn (Heather) McCubbins, Andrea Megan (Brandon) Whitlow, Erica Dawn Phinney (Dealin) Mattingly, Dylan (Audrey) Arnett, Joshua (Lindsey) Damron, Jessica (Bryan) Cyr, Clary Quinn, Jayden Lee Damron, Damian (Haley) Robertson, Sunserra Robertson, Caleb Robertson, Logan Robertson, Raclyn Robertson, Dakota Cordial, Sydney Cordial, Shianne Cordial, Dalton Cordial, Sara (Adam) Cantrell and Tia (Zack) Sloan; ten great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Henry Layman Damron will be Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. EST (10 CST) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with cremation to follow.

Rev. Jay Damron will be officiating

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 5-8 PM EST (4-7) CST. at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Myodysplasia Syndrome (MDS) which can be made in person at the funeral home.

Nevelda Gribbins, 60

Nevelda Gribbins of Lebanon, the daughter of the late Arvin and Leoda (Garrett) Gribbins, was born July 11, 1961 in Marion County, KY and departed this life on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at her home. She was 60 years of age.

She was a former employee of Jane and Linda Sportswear and Creations Screen printing. She also worked at Goodwill and Dollar General in Campbellsville and was of the Baptist Faith.

Nevelda enjoyed reading, flowers, gardening, puzzels and TV cooking shows.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers: Dorine Gribbins, Martin, Clayton and Michael Gribbins; a longtime companion: Larry Clements and special friend: Gary Brown.

Survivors include a brother: Sonny Gribbins and wife Bonnie of Willisburg; a sister: Debbie Humphress and husband Chat of Campbellsville and a host of nieces and nephews include one special niece Rhonda Bright and husband Larry and a host of friends including: Jimmy Brown.

The funeral service for Nevelda Gribbins will be Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the St. Bernard Cemetery at Clementsville Cemetery.

Bro. Jeff Newton will be officiating.

Visitation on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.

John Lee

John Lee of Elizabethtown, formerly of Campbellsville, son of the late Shelby Smith Lee and Barilla Gore Lee, was born November 14, 1942 in Christian County, Kentucky.  He died at 12:30 A.M., Wednesday, May 25, 2022 in Glasgow.   Age:  79

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Coral Hill Baptist Church in Glasgow. John was a retired employee of GTE after twenty-nine years of service and a former employee of NAPA Auto Parts. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, dancing, and sharing the word of God. He united in marriage to Faith Sublett March 16, 1963. Besides his wife, Faith Lee of Campbellsville, John is survived by one son and one daughter:  Mike Lee and wife, Becky of Glasgow and Terri McKinney and husband, Chris of DeWitt, Michigan; three grandchildren:  Charity Barnes of Georgetown, Kate McKinney of Williamsburg, Virginia and Ryan McKinney of DeWitt, Michigan; one great-granddaughter, Kenzie Barnes of Bowling Green; step-mother-in-law, Minnie Sublett of Louisville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his father, Shelby Smith Lee; his mother, Barilla Gore Lee; two brothers: Shelby Smith Lee, Jr. and Robert E. Lee and his mother-in law, Fannie Knuckles Sublett and his father-in-law, Claude Sublett.
