Nora Christine “Teen” Shuffett, 63

Ms. Nora Christine “Teen” Shuffett of Campbellsville passed from this life on April 23, 2022 at the Norton Women and Children’s Hospital after an extended illness. Born in Taylor County on November 11, 1958 to the late William Coy and Kathryn (Edwards) Shuffett, she was 63 years, 5 months, and 12 days of age. She was a former factory employee, but enjoyed farmwork (especially tobacco-related work).

She leaves to cherish her memory:

A daughter: Jade Shuffett,

A brother: Bob Phillips and wife Lisa of Florida,

A sister: Connie Houk,

Three grandchildren: Aviona JayLee Smith, Ajada Lashawn Smith, and Alizaha Christine Smith,

A former companion and friend: George Turner,

Her dog: Baby,

And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Kay Shuffett Steward, in 2014.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Ms. Shuffett on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Joe Richardson will officiate. Cremation will be accorded her following the funeral service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral.

Raymond “Ray” Slone, 69

Mr. Raymond Lee “Ray” Slone of Glasgow, formerly of Columbia, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at the Barren County Health and Rehab Center. Born on July 16, 1952 in St. Petersburg, Florida, he was 69 years of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Solid Rock Full Gospel Church in Russell Springs. Mr. Slone was a retiree of the Florida Department of Transportation.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

A daughter: Destiny Slone of Campbellsville,

His companion of 38 years: Denise Hussey of Campbellsville,

A brother-in-law: Miles Standish of Florida,

And a host of other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Slone, and a sister.

The family chose cremation. A celebration of Ray’s life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society. Those can be made in person at the funeral home.

James Robert Allen, 89

James Robert Allen, of Campbellsville, the son of the late James and Rebecca (Allen) Allen, was born June 28, 1932 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Thursday, April 21, 2022 in Hodgenville at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home. He was 89 years of age.

He had made a profession of faith on Christ and was a member of the Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church and was a former flooring installer and enjoyed pitching horse shoes.

He was a Veteran, having served in the United Stated Army.

He united in marriage on September 24, 1954 to Eldora (Beard) Allen, who preceded her in death on March 11, 2021.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Kay Wetington; a son-in-law: Tim Cissell and four brothers and five sisters: Henry, John M., Everett and Creed Allen and Elsie Price, Froni Burress, Novella Perkins, Doreen Durham and Nora Vaughn.

Survivors include five children: Vickie Quinn and husband Greg, James Rex Allen, Sandra Cissell, Ronnie Allen and wife Kellie Jo, all of Campbellsville, Shannon Gilbert and husband Derrick of Georgetown.

Also a son-in-law: Billy Joe Wethington; fourteen grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Bro. Mike Gribbins will be officiating.

Family requests visitation from 5-8 PM on Saturday at the

L.R. Petty Funeral Home and after 10:00 A.M. on Sunday at the church.
