Larry Read Obituary

Larry Read, 70, of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Joseph Read and Nora Cruise Read, was born February 18th, 1952, in Campbellsville, Kentucky, and departed this life Tuesday, April 19th, 2022, at Green Hill Rehabilitation and Care.

He professed his faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Larry enjoyed being a farmer and loved all his friends and family. He was a great husband, father, brother, son, friend, and he will be dearly missed.

Larry united in marriage to Brenda Tucker Read on October 28th, 1978, who preceded her death on September 9th, 2006.

Larry is survived by:

Four sisters: Delois Jefferies, of Campbellsville; Edna Read, of Campbellsville; Evelien Read, of Edmonton; and Josephine Osbourne, of Campbellsville.

One brother: John Read, of Campbellsville.

VISITATION: Friday, April 22nd, 2022, from 5pm-8pm EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.

FUNERAL:  Saturday, April 23rd, 2022, at 2pm EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.

Burial to follow at Pierce Cemetery in Green County.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for expressions of sympathy be taken in form of donations toward Gideon Bibles and can be made at the funeral home.

Carles Lloyd, 77

Mr. Carles Ray Lloyd of Campbellsville passed from this life on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the Grandview Nursing and Rehab Facility after an illness. Born in Adair County on May 26, 1944 to the late Elford and Bonnie (Bunch) Lloyd, he was 77 years of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of East Campbellsville Church of God. Mr. Lloyd was a noted contract painter, and enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Brenda Lloyd, in 2016, and a sister, Freda Sroczynski.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

Four children: Cynthia Mann, Teresa Ballou, and Doyle Lloyd and wife Carolee, all of Columbia, and Jeffrey Lloyd and wife Heather of Chicago, Illinois,

Three siblings: Bernice Preece and husband Gary of Georgetown, Charles Lloyd of Columbia, and Brenda Malone of Louisville,

Eleven grandchildren,

Seven great-grandchildren,

And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends, including all his fishing and hunting buddies.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Lloyd on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Burial will follow in the Poplar Grove Cemetery in Taylor County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, April 24, from 2:00 PM until time for the service.

Otha Quisenberry

Otha Quisenberry, 68, of Richmond, Kentucky left this world on April 20, 2022.

Husband, Dad, Pop-Pop, and friend to many, Otha is survived by his wife of 47 years, Wanda; his son, Brian Quisenberry (Stacy); daughter, Tiffany McDonald (Adam); granddaughter, Sara Quisenberry; grandson, Mason McDonald; and sister, Mary Clark (Bob). He was preceded in death by his father, David Quisenberry and mother, Ruth Quisenberry both of Campbellsville.

Born in Campbellsville and a graduate of Campbellsville University, Otha resided in Winchester, Kentucky for many years. He enjoyed a successful career making many friends across the commercial trucking industry. Outside of work, Otha enjoyed being involved in youth sports. After coaching both Brian and Tiffany in baseball, he continued to serve as a coach, board member and president of Little League Baseball in Winchester for several years. He was also involved with Little League at the district and state levels. He loved spending time at the ballpark, including trips to Williamsport, Pennsylvania for the Little League World Series.

Otha also enjoyed using his booming voice to perform announcer duties for local sports, including George Rogers Clark High School football and basketball. One of his favorite memories was announcing for the Kentucky High School Basketball Sweet Sixteen at Rupp Arena. Otha was a lifelong fan of college basketball and the Kentucky Wildcats.
