James “Buddy” Moore

James “Buddy” Moore of Campbellsville, son of the late James Tallie Moore and Virginia Cheatham Moore, was born June 24, 1941 in Marion County, Kentucky. He died at 4:16 P.M., Monday, March 8, 2021 in Louisville. Age: 79

Buddy Moore came to Campbellsville when he was 19 years old to begin his dream by opening his very own shoe store, “Moore’s Shoe Shop”. He was one of the most successful “Red Wing” dealers in this part of the United States and was awarded many certificates for “Outstanding Salesmanship”. He had an outstanding talent for orthopedic work and shoe repair and loved what he did. On March 4th, he celebrated 60 years of business in the same location at 103 South Central Avenue in Campbellsville, Kentucky. He said many times that God left him on this Earth to help people be able to walk straight.

A Proclamation was made by the County Judge Executive Barry Smith declaring March 4th “Buddy Moore Day”.

As a young man, he was instrumental in establishing the “Sea-ville Divers”. He went on to be honored as an Honorary Fire-Rescue Chief by Mayor Tony Young in December 2018.

He was a faithful member of The First United Methodist Church where he served on many committees including: Chairman of Trustees, Finance Committee & Administrative Board.

One of his most cherished moments was when he won the Campbellsville Country Club Duffers Golf Tournament where he was a member for 50 plus years.
He was a dedicated leader of a local Boys Scouts of America troop for many years.

He was a member of the Taylor County Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Business Association. He was a loving husband, father & grandfather and a faithful friend to so many.

Buddy Moore lived life to the fullest!

He united in marriage to Roberta York June 3, 1961.

Besides his wife, Roberta Moore of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son, Dr. James B. Moore, Jr. and one daughter, Paula Moore Kirby and husband, Ron; one grandson, Landon York Moore, one granddaughter, Katherine Kirby Smith and husband, Austin; one brother, J. Larry Moore and wife, Sheila; one brother-in-law, Sherman York and wife, Betty Sue; one sister-in-law, Frances Sewell and husband, Jack; one nephew, Steven Moore PhD., two nieces, Jina Moore Blont, PhD. and Melissa Tallent; four honorary family members: Mary Farmer, Reagan Spoon, Ping Zhou and Sophia Roberta Zhou; and many other relatives and friends.

Buddy was also preceded in death by a brother, Carroll Moore. Special thanks to Dr. Rogers, Dr. Lissanu, Dr. James Angel, Dr. Ben Angel, Sherri Angel, Mary Tena Smith and staff at Taylor Regional Oncology and our local EMS and Air Evac Lifeteam.

Betty Faye Parker, 76

Mrs. Betty Faye Parker, daughter of the late Brack and Mary Bell (Caffee) Grant, was born in Adair County, Kentucky on October 23, 1944. She departed this life on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the Presbyterian Homes in Louisville, being 76 years, 4 months, and 14 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Mt. Zion Church of God. Mrs. Parker retired from Fruit of the Loom after 40 years of service, and later began a career as an associate at WalMart.

On January 11, 1963, she united in marriage to Mr. Glennis Allen Parker. To this union was born a son, Timothy Parker. Mr. and Mrs. Parker remained a devoted couple over 53 years, separated only by Mr. Parker’s passing on September 28, 2016.

Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Parker was also preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Willis Warren and Gladys Bright.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

Her son: Tim Parker and wife Jill of Louisville,

Two granddaughters: Sarah Parker and Hannah Parker, both of Louisville,

Two sisters: Geneva Roution of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Esther Cox of Campbellsville,

And a host of extended family and friends.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Parker on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Clay Wheeler will be officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Green River Memorial Cemetery following the service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 12, after 1:00 PM until time for the service.

Tessie Tincher

Tessie Tincher of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ulysses Ramsey and Hazel Baker Ramsey, was born December 11, 1929 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. She died at 2:15 P.M., Tuesday, March 9, 2021 in Campbellsville. Age: 91
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.
Tessie was a retired seamstress, having done sewing at Mitchell’s Men’s Store, Parks Belk Department Store and various other stores in downtown Campbellsville.
She united in marriage to R. B. Tincher June 26, 1948 and he preceded her in death July 6, 2010.
She enjoyed family time and get-togethers.
Tessie is survived by two daughters and two sons: Patty Mays and husband, Joe of Campbellsivlle, LaTonya Bertram of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Benny Tincher and wife, Jeanie of Marco Island, Florida and Craig Tincher of Lexington; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Tincher of Batavia, Ohio; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister, Vonda McKinney of Falmouth, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Tessie was also preceded in death by a son, Van Tincher July 14, 2020 and a sister, Marcie Warren.
