Dr. David G. Simmons of Campbellsville passed from this life on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at his home. Born in Green County on August 18, 1933 to the late Austin and Reba (Hill) Simmons, he was 87 years, 2 months, and 20 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Christian faith and attended The Rock Church in Campbellsville. Dr. Simmons was a graduate of Green County High School, the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, and had attained the rank of Captain in the United States Air Force. His generous heart will be dearly missed by those who knew him best. He leaves to mourn his passing: His wife: Catina (Rooker) Simmons, His children: Sherrie Pate and husband Derrel, Lisa Brown and husband Eddie, Cindy Springer and husband Kenneth, Leeann Hernandez and husband Mark, and Karol Joyce Simmons; his step-children: Corey Tyler Caldwell, Hannah Elizabeth Faith Frazier, Riley Grace Simmons, Zakhi “Ki” Elijah Simmons, and Zakari “Kari” Simmons. Grandchildren: David Pate and wife MeLisa, Melissa Smith and husband Casey, Rebecca Hood and husband Austin, Michael Brown and companion Taylor Cauthon, Clint Brown, Ashley Springer, Lindsey LaBlanc and husband Jake, Elizabeth Springer and companion Eric Clinebell, Evan Hernandez and his step-grandchild: Greyson Trey Frazier. Great-grandchildren: Olivia Pate, Eli Pate, Aubrey Smith, Ben Smith, and Preston Smith, Dax Brown, Charlee LaBlanc, and Harper LaBlanc, Father-in-law: Lindsey Thompson and wife Linda, Mother-in-law: Linda Rooker, A close friend: Jarvis Agee and a host of other family members and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter: Britany Brockman. The funeral service to honor the life of Dr. Simmons on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Jeff Newton will be officiating. The Marion County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct full military honors. A private burial will be in the Mt. Washington Cemetery. Bill Newcomb of Cub Run, formerly of Finley, son of the late Patrick Newcomb and Viola Sapp Newcomb, was born April 24, 1940 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 12:02 P.M., Saturday, November 7, 2020 in Cub Run. Age: 80
He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.
He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was
a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Bill was a retired auto mechanic and enjoyed working on cars.
He is survived by two daughters: Patty Deering and husband, David of
Campbellsville and Elaine Gerwitz and husband, Bobby of Shepherdsville; four
grandchildren: Brandon Gerwitz of
Lebanon Junction and Makayla Deering, Macy Deering and Maddie Deering of
Campbellsville; one great-grandchild, Kaydan Gerwitz of Lebanon Junction; two sisters
and one brother: Catherine Raffety and
Sue Yates and husband, Jody of Campbellsville and Luther Newcomb and wife,
Ailine of Louisville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and
friends.
He was also preceded in death by six brothers: Johnny Newcomb, Gene
Newcomb, Jim Newcomb, Randall Newcomb, Jerry Newcomb and Joe Newcomb and one
half-brother, G. E. Newcomb.

County, Kentucky. He died at 12:50 P.M., Sunday, November 8, 2020
in Campbellsville. Age: 80
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of First United Methodist
Church.
Paul was a retired educator and farmer.
He loved all his animals, especially the cats, dogs, cows and donkeys,
He is survived by several relatives and many other friends.
Paul was also preceded in death by a brother in infancy.
