Preston Stamp, 80

Mr. Preston Delano “Sam” Stamp of Elk Horn passed from this life on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at the Taylor Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Son of the late Clem Preston and Eva Mabel (Abell) Stamp, he was born on June 13, 1939 in Taylor County and was 80 years, 6 months, and 19 days of age at the time of his passing. He was a retired auto mechanic and was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed farming and was a talented builder. As a young man, he met and married Mrs. Betty Lou (Clark) Stamp, and they remained a devoted couple until her death in 2012

He leaves to mourn his passing:

Four children: Marshall Stamp and partner Ron of Georgia, Carla Spurling and husband Roger of Elk Horn, Marilyn Stamp of Acton, and Jerry Stamp and wife Tammy of Campbellsville,

Three siblings: Mildred Cook of Campbellsville, Holly Bryant and husband Jim of Liberty, and Kathrine Ludeen Schwindt and husband Jimmy of Campbellsville,

Ten grandchildren,

Twenty great-grandchildren,

And a host of other family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a son, David Stamp; an infant daughter, Eva Marie Stamp; and a sister, Maydra Arleen Weaver, and an infant sister, Betty Jo Stamp.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Stamp on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the LR. Petty Funeral Home, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Roger Bland will be officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Merrimac Cemetery beside his cherished wife.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 4,, from 5:00-8:00 PM.

Samuel E. Trulock of Elk Horn, son of Billie Wise Blair and the late Louis Emmitt Trulock, was born October 29, 1961 in Munfordville, Kentucky. He died at 4:31 P.M., Friday December 27, 2019 in Clarksville, Indiana. Age: 58
Samuel had professed faith in Christ.
He was a security guard and handy man for Tarter Gate Company.
He united in marriage to Cheryl Lynn Evans, March 15, 1981.
Besides his wife, Cheryl Trulock of Elk Horn, he is survived by two daughters and two sons: Samuel Trulock of Campbellsville, Tracy Rhein and husband, Allen and Christopher Trulock and fiancé, Sabrina Todaro of Louisville and Tiffany Henderson and husband, Josh of Hodgenville; fifteen grandchildren: Bradley, Brittany and Bryan Crew, Taylor Hornbach, Laidyn Long, Logan, Greyson, Anna, Hailey, Zachary and Samantha Trulock, Kyle, Jayce, Gwendalyn and Emilyn Henderson and one unborn grandchild; one great-granddaughter, Sophia Ann Lynn Kane; his mother, Billie Blair and step-father, Paul Merriam of Elk Horn; two brothers and one sister: Edward Merriam, Paul Merriam II and Helen Fann and husband, George; former daughter-in-law, Charlotte Trulock; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Johann Eugene Merriam and his beloved fur baby, Star.

Bobby Lee Burress

Bobby Lee Burress of Elk Horn, son of the late Lloyd Clifton Burress and Molly Seaborne Burress, was born December 19, 1940 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 5:04 A.M., Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at his home. Age: 79
He professed faith in Christ and attended Feathersburg First Church of God.
Bobby was a lifelong farmer with his family, primarily raising tobacco and cattle. He was a proud and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Bobby was the 2019 Taylor County Cattlemen’s Association Cattleman of the Year and was very active in Republican Party Politics.
He united in marriage to Dorothy Jean Wethington November 6, 1958.
Besides his wife, Dorothy Burress, he is survived by one son, Allen Burress and wife, Kecia; daughter-in-law, Toni Burress; six grandchildren: Adam Burress and wife, Amanda, Jennifer Bell, Dustan Burress, Austin Burress, and Jessica Johnson and husband, Joe of Elk Horn and Jacqueline Davis of Campbellsville; granddaughter-in-law, Megan Burress of Elk Horn; thirteen great-grandchildren: Andrew Blake, Peyton Lee, Mason Alexander, Adalyn Grace, Isaac Dean, Nathan Allen and Rylee Ann Burress, Corey Blake Spurling, Nicholas Joseph and Gabriella Rose Hall, Laura Catherine, Sarah Danielle and Allison Jo Johnson; two sisters and one brother in-law: Christine Wise, Loretta Gaddis and Richard Chelf of Elk Horn; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Bobby was also preceded in death by one daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Jerry Davis; one son, Rodney Burress; one grandson, Matt Burress; great granddaughter, Maitlynn Leigh Burress and three brothers and three sisters: Lester Burress, Harold “Bo” Burress, Walter “Tommy” Burress, Shirley Chelf, Edna Herron and Lillie Poynter Woodrum.
