Eva P. Smith of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Thomas Edward White and Clara Ida Wilson White, was born November 19, 1930 in Plainview, Texas. She died at 4:45 P.M., Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in Campbellsville. Age: 87
Eva professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.
She united in marriage to Bill Smith August 27, 1949.
Besides her husband, Bill Smith, she is survived by two sons and two daughters: Fred Smith and wife, Diane and Beth Caler and husband, David of Campbellsville, Dr. Edward Smith and wife, Sharon of South Carolina and Rita Isbell and husband, Robert of Texas; nine grandchildren: James Robert Isbell and wife Monica, Shane Smith, Sharon Smith, Zachary Smith and wife, Gina, Caleb Smith and wife, Hailey, Jacob Smith, Joshua Smith and wife, Kaitlyn, Hannah Smith Haslam and husband Pete, and Rachael Smith Lusco and husband, Brian; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Sarah Smith and two brothers and two sisters: Paul White, William “Bill” White, Luna Pendleton and Eunice Baker.

James Thompson, 77

James Matthew Thompson, the son of the late Marvin and Ruth (Hash) Thompson, was born, Tuesday, June 10, 1941 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 in Elizabethtown at the Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehab. He was 77 year of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Elk Horn Baptist Church. He was a former insurance broker and served with the National Guard. He was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren and playing a round of golf.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Jessica and Darren Casteel; a grandson: Breyer Casteel; a granddaughter: Brinkley Casteel, all of Florida; two brothers: Donnie Thompson of Campbellsville and Floyd Thompson of Nashville; a sister: Ann Strader of Campbellsville and a host of other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters: Opal Miller, Judy Shuffett, Wanda Zane Thompson and Pauline Hedgespeth.

The funeral service for James Matthew Thompson will be conducted Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Zion Cemetery.

Family requests visitation after 10:00 A.M. Saturday until time for the service at the funeral home.

Ruby Clark

Ruby Clark of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Willie Matt Dudgeon and Eva Mae Carroll Dudgeon, was born November 8, 1924 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 5:10 A.M., Sunday, November 11, 2018 in Campbellsville. Age: 94 Ruby professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pitman Valley Baptist Church.
She was a homemaker and dairy farmer and was said to get more milk from her cows because she would sing to them. As a homemaker, she raised six sons and one daughter. Quilting was one of many things that Ruby would do to care for and show her love for her family. When wrapping up in one of her beautiful quilts, you not only feel the warmth she intended, but you can see the love she put into every stitch.
She united in marriage to Gordon Clark August 25, 1945 and he preceded her in death, June 4, 2006.
She is survived by one daughter and six sons and their spouses: Mary and Tommy Cox, Gerald and Janet Clark, Gordon Ray and Faye Clark, Tommy and Sharon Clark, Ricky and Ruthetta Clark, and Timmie and Karen Clark, all of Campbellsville and Donald and Brenda Clark of Corbin; ten grandchildren; eleven great- grandchildren; two step-great-grand-children;
two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Doug Clark and Laverne Sapp of Campbellsville and Buford Clark of Macon, Georgia; a special family friend, Jimmy Benningfield of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Angela Clark Davis and four sisters and two brothers: Lottie Lewis, Grace Parker, Gladys Barnett, Gay Walters, Robert “Bob” Dudgeon and Raymond Dudgeon.
