Rebecca “Becky” Seaborne Brown, 62

Mrs. Rebecca “Becky” Brown of Campbellsville passed from this life on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the University of Louisville Hospital as the result of an automobile accident. She was born to the late Coakley D. and Vernie Mae (Williams) Seaborne on July 16, 1955 and was 62 years, 11 months, and 10 days of age. Mrs. Brown had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Christian faith. She retired as a restaurant cook and bus monitor, but enjoyed working part time for Pioneer Catering at Campbellsville University. She loved her family, and in her free time, she enjoyed working in her flower beds and was an avid fan of the University of Kentucky basketball team.

She leaves to mourn her passing:

One son: Richard “Bubby” Brown, Jr. and wife Myra of Greensburg,

One daughter: Dana Cox Welch and husband Joseph Michael Cox of Campbellsville,

A chosen daughter: Tonya McDonald of Mississippi,

Five siblings: Mitchell Clayton Seaborne and wife Maureen of Mannsville, Phyllis Fennell and husband Roland of Mt. Washington, Norman L. Seaborne of Campbellsville, Coakley Seaborne, Jr. and wife Rita of Elk Horn, and Phillip Clay Seaborne and companion Sandy of Campbellsville,

Seven grandchildren: Jacob Scott Welch, Joshua Seth Welch, Lyrik Marr and husband Landon, Micahla Sears, Caselynn Brown, Remy Brown, and Ryan Sears,

Two great-grandchildren: Daxton Sears and Rhylee Riggs,

Special friends: Kim Fitzgerald and Julie Franklin,

And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Brown on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Travis Bright will be officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 28, from 5:00-8:00 PM.

Elvia Bogues, 84

Mrs. Elvia Jean Bogues of Campbellsville passed from this life on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Green Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greensburg. Born in Columbia to the late Hobert and Hyacinth (Rigney) Pyles on February 11, 1934, she was 84 years, 4 months, and 14 days of age. After the untimely death of her mother, Mrs. Bogues was loved and raised by her grandparents, James B. and Retta Mae Pyles. She was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served her country honorably during the Korean Conflict. She was a loyal, generous, and loving woman, and rightfully proud of her service to her country, her family, and her God. Mrs. Bogues had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Church of the Nazarene and American Legion.

She leaves to mourn her passing:

One son: Jim Bogues and wife Tonya of Campbellsville,

A grandson: Marshall Bogues, III of Elizabethtown,

One brother: Hobert “Sonny” Pyles of Danville,

One sister: Doris Pyles Casey of Indiana,

Special cousins and friends: Debbie Benningfield, Gerry Cunitz, Margaret Pyles, Carol Sue Bohannon, and Shelia Bryant,

And a host of other close cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marshall James Bogues in 1977; two sisters, Margie Pyles Johnson and Mary Pyles Smith; five aunts, Claris Pyles, Bonnie Pyles, Altha Pyles, Clara Pyles, and Lyla Pyles; and nine uncles, Finis Pyles, Vitis Pyles, Rollin Pyles, Kenneth Pyles, Robert Pyles, Aaron Pyles, Walter Pyles, James Pyles, and Howard Pyles.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Bogues on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM EST (10:00 AM CST) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Eddie Finn will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Brookside Cemetery, W. Main St, Campbellsville, KY.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 29, from 5:00-8:00 PM EST (4:00-7:00 PM CST).

Bobby Phillips

Bobby Phillips of Magnolia, son of the late Hugh Leonard Phillips and Rebecca Wilson Phillips, was born August 15, 1941, in Peoria, Illinois. He died at 7:28 A.M., Saturday, June 23, 2018 in Elizabethtown. Age: 76
Bobby professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Magnolia.
He was a retired employee of Phillip Morris and was a former Freemason. Bobby was a big hearted man and his faithful giving to St. Jude Children’s Hospital proved just that. After moving from Louisville he enjoyed collecting Henry firearms mostly in .22 calibers, looking at old cars and loved Bald Eagles. Most of all Bobby loved his family especially his wife, Rachel.
He united in marriage to Rachel Harris March 7, 1964 and she preceded him in death April 20, 2013.
He is survived by one daughter, Mary Lois Garr of Magnolia; two granddaughters: Rebecca Ann Chancellor and husband, Criss of Lexington and MaryLynn Louise Garr of Magnolia; one great-grandson, Thomas James Choate of Lexington; one brother and one sister: Rollin Phillips of Louisville and Brenda Siegrist of Holiday, Florida; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Rachel Luriee Kays; three brothers and one sister: William Edward Phillips, Wayne R. Phillips and Charles Phillips and Nellie Jane Phillips in infancy.
