William Garnett Bault

William Garnett Bault of Campbellsville, son of the late Basil Bault and Bertie Hovious Bault, was born November 1, 1929, in Adair County, Kentucky. He died at 9:15 P.M., Monday, February 25, 2019 in Louisville. Age: 89
He professed faith in Christ and was a long time active member of Palestine Baptist Church serving in many capacities such as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Music Leader and was honored to be named a Deacon Emeritus.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served his country honorably in the United States Army.
William was a carpenter, farmer and former employee of Overhead Door Company. He was a jack of all trades and could repair anything with duck tape and WD40. He was a devoted husband, father and doting grandfather who was known for his witty sense of humor and love of peanut brittle, which he kept handy for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
He united in marriage to Barbara Jean Fawcett October 4, 1953 and she preceded him in death April 21, 2017.
He is survived by one daughter, Ruthie Bender of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Robert Bender of Campbellsville and Jenna Lee and husband, David of Cookeville, Tennessee; one brother and one sister: Leonard Bault of Cane Valley and Betty Willis of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Bault September 14, 2018 and two brothers and six sisters: Leon Bault, Gordon Bault, Maxine Stonecipher, Lonita Hancock, Annelle Cox, Doris Combs, Judy Estes and Mary Evelyn Lee.

Kathryn Louise (Mann) Smothers, 85

Mrs. Kathryn Louise Mann Smothers of Taylor County passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. Born on September 19, 1933 to the late Henry Gilbert and Ethel Levice Minor, she was 85 years, 5 months, and 4 days of age. Mrs. Smothers had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mannsville United Methodist Church. She was a woman of love and compassion, and she enjoyed providing a warm and comfortable home to her family. Mrs. Smothers retired from Mannsville School and Taylor County Hospital, where she had been employed as a cafeteria worker. She was married to Henry Mann, who preceded her in death. Later, she was married to Billy Smothers, who survives.

Besides her husband, she leaves to cherish her memory:

One daughter: Elaine Mann of Elizabethtown,

A stepdaughter: Tammy Moore and husband Jim of Cecilia,

Three grandchildren: Kathy Begley and husband Roger of Campbellsville, and Kevin Mann and wife Jamie, and Kalvin Mann and fiance Emily Cundiff, both of Mannsville,

Four great-grandchildren: Dustin Begley and wife Brooklyn, Daniel Begley, Kaylee Mann, and Kyndra Mann,

Four great-great grandchildren: Clayton Begley, Blakelynn Begley, Barron Begley, and Allessa Cundiff,

A daughter-in-law: Judy Mann,

And a host of other family and close friends.

She was also preceded in death by two sons: Danny Mann and Darrell Mann; four siblings: Hanley Minor, Rodford Minor, Nell Minor, and Thelma Minor; and a great-granddaughter: Kaitlyn Mann.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Smothers on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Richard Lowe and Bro. John Hall will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Mann Cemetery, Taylor County.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb 26, from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral.

Helen Marie Loy, 90

Helen Marie Loy, the daughter of the late Demar and Callie Burress Mings, was born Tuesday, January 24, 1929 in Taylor County and departed this life on Sunday, February 24, 2019 in Harrodsburg at the James B. Haggin Hospital. She was 90 years, 1 month and 10 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Stoner Creek United Methodist Church and was a homemaker and worked with her husband on the farm. She enjoyed sewing, reading and crocheting.
She united in marriage to Carl Loy, who preceded her in death on May 26, 2018.
Survivors include a daughter: Sheila Hollon and husband David of Campbellsville; a grandson: Anthony Hollon and companion Tonya Mann of Campbellsville and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Helen Marie Loy will be conducted Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Callahan Cemetery.
