Steven Dewayne “Bob” Mitchell, the son of the late Wilbert and Nancy Hill Mitchell, was born Thursday, May 30, 1963 in Marion County and departed this life Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in Louisville at the Norton Hospital. He was 55 years, 4 months and 25 days of age.
He was a dairy farmer and was of the Christian Faith.
“Bob”, as he was known by, enjoyed fishing, camping, and building model cars.
Survivors include: his wife: Freida Jeanine Dedman Mitchell of Springfield; two children: Dale Preston and Amberdina Allen; five grandchildren: Taiten Allen, Jazzlynn Williams, Laithun Cotton, D’Andre Jeter and Arthur Creth III; sister-in-law: Louise Dedman Phillips; brothers-in-law: David Dedman and Dixon Dedman; nephews: Joshua Lee Dedman, Jonathon Dedman and Isaac Phillips and a host of other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Freddie Lane Mitchell.
The funeral service for Steven Dewayne “Bob” Mitchell will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville with cremation to follow.
Family requests visitation after 11 A.M. on Saturday until time for the service at the funeral home.

Howard Lee Smith of Campbellsville, son of the late Sam Smith and Mary Lee Rice Smith, was born February 21, 1934, in Adair County, Kentucky. He died at 12:33 A.M., Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in Campbellsville.
Age: 84
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the South Campbellsville Baptist Church.
He was a veteran of Korean Conflict having served his country honorably in the United States Army.
Howard was a self-employed carpenter and built several houses in the community. His favorite hobbies were antiquing and collecting. He will be remembered as a very kind and compassionate person.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews: Greg Smith, Brad Smith, Brent Smith, Steve Smith, Wendy Bryant, Sherri Rhodes, Elizabeth Priddy, Garnett Petrey and Timmy Petrey; several great-nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Paul E. Smith, Tommy Smith and Mable Petrey and one niece and one nephew: Debbie Fleming and Mike Smith.

Esther Harmon of Campbellsville, daughter of the late H. O. Purvis and Nancy DeSpain Purvis, was born October 4, 1921 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 2:30 A.M., Saturday, October 20, 2018 in Campbellsville. Age: 97
She was a former employee of the Aquarium World Fish Store and also worked in a furniture store with her husband, Ernest. She was an amazing seamstress and enjoyed quilting.
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She united in marriage to Ernest R. Harmon October 21, 1939 and he preceded her in death September 30, 2001.
She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Tammy Houk of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: Lana Kay Humphress of Junction City, Kansas, Erondia Sue Weldon of New Albany, Indiana, Bonnie Dale Humphress Meyer of Loretta, Pennsylvania, Connie Jo Wheelehan of Black Foot, Idaho and Derek Ray Harmon of Bowling Green; nine great- grandchildren; eighteen great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Juanita Linton and husband, Chris of Sellersburg, Indiana; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Artie Purvis, a son and daughter, Daryl Harmon August 1, 2007 and Nancy Ann Harmon Humphress August 25, 2000; a grandson, Spencer Michael Humphress; two brothers and two sisters: Charles Ray Purvis and Ernest Glenn Purvis, Ruby Cecil Purvis and Glena Frances Purvis and also, her beloved dog, Tiny.
