Donald B. Salsbury, age 92

Donald B. Salsbury, 92 years, 5 months, and 1 day of age of Campbellsville, died Friday, January 19, 2018 at Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab Center.

Donald was born in Eros Louisiana, the son of the late Claudie and Gillian Crowell Salsbury.   Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Kenneth and Dalton Salsbury.

After graduating from L.S.U., Donald served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II and became an airplane pilot as well as being named a Kentucky Colonel and was a Mason for 50 years, being a member of Masonic Lodge 59.  Donald had achieved many accomplishments in his life having been a leader of the Boy Scouts in Greensburg for many years and received the distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America, The Silver Beaver Award.  He was well known in his community having worked as a manager at Tennessee Gas Pipeline for many years and a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.

Surviving is his wife, Hallie Salsbury of Galveston, TX,  a daughter, Sharon Salsbury and son Kyle Salsbury and his wife Becky of Campbellsville and a son, Donald Mack Salsbury and his wife Maryanne of Brecksville, Ohio.   Also surviving are four grandchildren, Matt Salsbury and wife Melissa and Becky Juniper and husband Dave of Brecksville, Ohio and Lake Salsbury and wife Samantha of Lexington and Ethan Salsbury of West Chester Ohio as well as 4 great grandchildren.    A brother survives, Carl Salsbury of Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Donald B. Salsbury will be Monday, January 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with burial in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

The family request visitation on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Steve W. Cox, age 66

Steve Williett Cox, 66 years, 2 months and 12 days of age, of Campbellsville, died Thursday, January 18, 2018, at his home in Taylor County.

Steve was born in Marion County, November 6, 1951, the son of the late Curtis Cox Sr. and Helen Sallee Cox who survives.    Besides his father, he was predeceased by his brother, Curtis Cox, Jr.

After serving his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam war, he worked for Ford Motor Company.    He was of the Baptist faith, a member of the Merrimac Masonic Lodge and enjoyed in his spare time, hunting and motorcycles.   He was a family man that loved his kids and grandkids.

Besides his mother, surviving is his wife of 50 years, Martha Malone Cox and children, Elecia Cox, Stephanie Travis and Bobby Clay Cox all of Campbellsville.   Also surviving is a brother, Ricky Cox, and sister, Denise Bagby of Campbellsville and Sandra Burkhead of Louisville as well as 6 grandchildren, Blade Thompson, Austin Thompson, Shayne Murphy, Wesley Murphy, Jr., Jared Murphy, Deandre Bell, and a great-grandchild, Rylee Thompson.

The funeral Service for Steve Williett Cox will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Sharp officiating.    Burial will follow in Tallow Creek Cemetery with bearers being Steven Thompson, Austin Thompson, Peanut Lawson, David Hunt, Harry Pelle and Doug Vaughn.

The family request visitation on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Lyon DeWitt Berry Funeral Home.

Howard Edelen, 75

Mr. Howard Edelen of Campbellsville passed from this life on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Born on April 30, 1942 to the late Tom and Maude (Murray) Edelen, he was 75 years, 8 months, and 19 days of age. Mr. Edelen professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. When he wasn’t working at the Coca-Cola plant or Batesville Casket factory, he relaxed by tending his garden or listening to music. His kind smile will be missed by all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

Two children: Gwen Bowen and husband Wendell, and Troy Edelen and wife Cindy, all of Campbellsville,

Four sisters: Pearl Blevins, Barbara Powell, and Joyce Davis, all of Campbellsville, and Bernice Benningfield, his twin sister of Louisville,

Five grandchildren: Taylor Edelen, Tanner Edelen, Jeremy Edelen, Stephanie Bowen, and Zack Bowen,

And a host of other family and close friends.

He was also preceded in death by four siblings: Nora Lee Minor, Lola Nell Hickey, Wesley Edelen, and Wilda Edelen.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Edelen on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Burial will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, 3890 Spurlington Road, Campbellsville, KY.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, Jan. 20, after 10:00 AM until time for the service.
