Virginia Bright, 96 years, 2 months and 22 days of age, died Monday, January 1, 2018 in Signature Healthcare East in Louisville.
Virginia was born October 10, 1921 to the late Samuel Allen and Valeria Shively Bright in Taylor County Kentucky. Also preceding her in death were her siblings, Samuel Bright, Jr., Edward Bright, Douglas Bright, Howard Bright and Elizabeth Bright.
Virginia retired from Brown Williamson as payroll clerk after many years of faithful service. She had made a profession of faith and was a member of Ninth and O Baptist Church in Louisville, KY.
She was survived by her nieces and nephews, George Bright of Brentwood TN, Charles Bright of Frankfort, Robert Bright of Elk Horn, Betty Cox of Mannsville, Venita Bright of Frankfort, Lloyd of Evansville IN, Elaine Horn of Lexington, Gary Bright of California and Bryan Bright of Mackville, KY.
Funeral services for Virginia Bright will be held at Lyon-Dewitt-Berry Funeral Home on Friday January 5 at 3:00 PM. Burial to follow in Elk Horn Cemetery.
Family requests visitation from 1:00 -3:00 pm at the time of service on Friday January 5 at Lyon-Dewitt-Berry Funeral Home.

William “Bill” Lile McKinney of Campbellsville, son of the late Leon McKinney and Mary Lois Lile McKinney, was born May 9, 1934 in Green County, Kentucky. He died at 6:20 P.M., Sunday, December 31, 2017 in Louisville. Age: 83
He was of the Baptist faith.
Bill worked all his life. He worked for the Federal Government in Soil Conservation for many years all over the state. He was also a salesman for Charles Chips and was affectionately known as the “Charlie Chip Man” in the area and the best at . He also had his own business for many years called Bill’s Hobby Shop where he offered car repair services.
repaired and rebuilt transmissions. This was one of his passions and you could always find him in his shed working on a transmission.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was an aircraft mechanic. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He united in marriage to Carol L. Nance June 6, 1953 and she preceded him in death May 26, 2014.
He is survived by one son and two daughters: Greg McKinney and wife, Cheryl, Kim Pendleton and husband, Joe and Ann York and husband, Bubby of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: Krissy Welch, Dee Brown, Donald Brown, April Nalley and Dalton McKinney; twelve great-grandchildren: Gracie Miller, Logan Brown, Belle Brown, Kylie Brown, Sarah Brown, Jack Brown, Blake Landis, Aleigha Nalley, Abrina Nalley, Ross Brown, Gibson McKinney and Roxey McKinney; three nieces and one nephew: Barbie McKinney, Julie McKinney, Miranda Hines and Jimmy McKinney and many other relatives and friends.
Bill was also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy McKinney July 4, 1979.

Herman “Sluggo” Curry of Campbellsville, son of the late Roy Hartford Curry and Evelyn Bishop Curry was born May 5, 1945 in Green County, Kentucky. He died at 6:40 A.M., Sunday, December 31, 2017 in Louisville. Age: 72
Herman was a former manager at W.L. Johnsons in Green County and more recently employed at P.C. Clark Supply in Campbellsville.
He was a veteran of Vietnam War having served his country honorably in the United States Army. Herman was a member of the Rod Lowe Post 124 American Legion Auxiliary in Greensburg, Kentucky and enjoyed fishing whenever the opportunity came along.
Herman united in marriage to Reta Faye McCubbin January 1, 1991 and she preceded him in death April 1, 2001.
He is survived by two sons: Timmy Curry and fiancee, Karen Shuck and Troy Curry and wife, Cassie of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Dalton Wade Curry and Cody Renn Curry of Greensburg; two brothers and one sister: Willie Hartford Curry of Tucson, Arizona, Jerry Curry and wife, Judy and Vanda Wilson and husband, Terry of Greensburg; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers: Hazel Marie Curry Hollins, Danny Lee Curry and Lonzo Curry.
