Billy Houghlin, Jr, 43

William Edgar “Billy” Houghlin, Jr, the son of Mary Smith Underwood of Greensburg and the late William Edgar Houghlin, Sr, was born Tuesday, November 5, 1974 in Frankfort, KY and departed this life on Friday, December 29, 2017 in Campbellsville at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 43 years, 1 month and 25 days of age.

He was a farmer, lawn care provider and was a dedicated caretaker of his wife and he attended the Christie Chapel United Methodist Church.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife: Monica Hovious Houghlin of Knifley, a daughter: Nancy Jo Houghlin of Greensburg, a sister: Diana Orias Manning and husband Kenneth of Greensburg, a brother: Johnny Houghlin and companion Andrea of Frankfort.

Also surviving is his step-father: Andrew Fint, Jr of Springfield; a nephew: Daniel Houghlin and close friends: Tyler Hovious and Joseph Davis and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service for William Edgar “Billy” Houghlin, Jr., will be conducted Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Chappel Cemetery at Knifley with burial to follow. Brandon Hovious will be officiating.

There will be no public visitation.

James David “Jimmy” Holmes, 69

James David “Jimmy” Holmes, the son of the late Ezra and Marie Graham Holmes, was born, Tuesday, December 28, 1948 in Campbellsville, KY and departed this life on Friday, December 29, 2017 in Elizabethtown at the Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehab. He was 69 years of age.
He was a former mechanic and woodworker and was of the Baptist Faith.
Jimmy, as most people knew him by, was a known auto problem solver, detecting and repairing vehicles to make them run while listening to his country music. He always was calling and checking on his furry babies Daphne and Sammy Jo. He often taught his grandchildren his trade of fixing that which is broken or not working properly.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers: Carolyn Taylor, Marshall and Stanley Graham.
He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters: Paula Thornton-Thompson and husband Stan and Melissa Holmes, all of Campbellsville; a sister and brother: JoAnn Lotter and husband Harold and Allen Holmes and wife Sandy, all of Campbellsville.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Dra, Austyn and Dalvian Thornton, Miranda Wethington, Nikita and Cameron Harris and Sean Mullins, ten great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A private graveside service and burial will be held at the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens by L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville.
There will be no public visitation.

Lucian Rodgers

Lucian Rodgers of Owensboro, formerly of Campbellsville, son of the late Grover Rodgers, Sr. and Clara Shreve Rodgers, was born November 4, 1932 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 6:30 A.M., Friday, December 29, 2017 in Owensboro. Age: 85
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church.
Lucian was a retired farmer, worked as Houchens Market Manager for fifteen years and also served on the Board of Directors for the Green River Feeder Cattle Association for eighteen years.
He united in marriage to Wanda Conner October 19, 1952 and she preceded him in death May 10, 1993.
He is survived by two sons: Bart Rodgers of Summersville and Tony Rodgers and wife, Ronda of Owensboro; four grandchildren: Blake Rodgers and wife, Cassie, of Nashville, Tennessee, Alec Rodgers and Chrissy Milby of Greensburg, David Rodgers and wife, Kristy, and Amy Rodgers of Owensboro; six great-grandchildren: Ethan Rodgers, Grayson Rodgers, Blaine Rodgers, Judson Rodgers, Callie Rodgers and Annalynn Rodgers; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters: Grover Rodgers, Jr., Maurice Rodgers, Alvin Wilkerson, Ralph Rodgers, Mayme Simpson and Aileen Richerson.
