Terry Cox, age 66

Terry Cox, 66 years, 3 months and 16 days of age, formerly of Taylor County, died Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at his home in Mt. Washington after an extended illness.

Terry was born July 8, 1951 the son of the late Robert and Evonne Gribbin Cox in Marion County, Kentucky.    Also preceding him in death was a sister Bonnie Ford.    For 32 years Terry worked for Ford Motor Company in Louisville.   In his spare time, he loved to fish, travel and was an avid gun collector and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Terry is survived by his wife Audrey Cox of Mt. Washington, a daughter, Jamie Lynn Myers and her husband Perry Myers of Shepherdsville and a son, Terry Allen Cox and his wife, Brooke of Elizabethtown.   Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Travis Myers, Megan Myers, Anna-Kate Cox and Olivia Cox.    One sister survives LaJuan Sweasy and husband Jackie of Frankfort and a brother, Tony Cox and his wife Jill of Owensboro.

A graveside service for Mr. Cox will be on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Tallow Creek Cemetery with Bro. Don Gowin officiating.

Donald Wheatley, Sr.

Donald Wheatley, Sr. of Campbellsville, son of the late John Robert Wheatley and Mary Ida Mattingly Wheatley, was born August 9, 1936 in Marion County, Kentucky.
He died at 10:15 A.M., Sunday, October 22, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 81
He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
He was regional manager of Western Kentucky Gas Company for forty-two years.
Donald was civic minded having been the past president of the Kiwanis Club, a member of the Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Campbellsville-Taylor County Industrial Foundation, a former volunteer firefighter and was also an avid golfer.
He united in marriage to Margaret Lee June 9, 1956.
Besides his wife, Margaret Wheatley, he is survived by one daughter and four sons: Lisa Davis and husband, Terry, Barry Wheatley and wife, Sueann, Kevin Wheatley and wife, Donna, and Don Wheatley, Jr. and wife, Penny of Campbellsville and Michael Wheatley and wife, Beverly of Princeton; nine grandchildren: Kristin Wheatley and Jeremy Stillwell, Alex Davis, Abby Davis, Brennan Wheatley, Blasé Wheatley and Caden Wheatley of Campbellsville, Ashley Jones and husband, Daniel of Eddyville, Brooke Rauch and husband, Andrew and Seth Wheatley of Lexington; four great-grandchildren: Jayden Murphy, Ethan Murphy, Jamison Stillwell and Anderson Rauch; four sisters and three brothers: Rita Ann Lamkin and husband, Maurice of Louisville, John Wheatley of Illinois; Barbara McClain, and Dedie Walker and husband, Bob of Lexington, Margaret Mary Newton and Steve Wheatley and wife, Sheila of Lebanon and Henry “Butch” Wheatley and wife, Betty Jo of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relative and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Wheatley in infancy, and a sister, Jane Smith.

Alta Hensley

Alta Hensley of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Harry Adams and Ella Kessler Adams was born April 14, 1926 in Hart County, Kentucky. She died at 7:43 A.M., Saturday, October 21, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 91
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church which she served faithfully for many years. Alta was an elder, youth sponsor and Crusade leader for the Cumberland Presbytery. After retiring from public work she also took on the roll of Church Treasurer. Alta was always supporting others, whether it was in her many rolls in her church and her community or during her 35 years as the receptionist at Fruit of the Loom; all of which had many challenges that she managed to handle with both poise and grace. She united in marriage to Floyd Hensley, Jr. September 10, 1947 and it has been said that she truly was the “good woman behind the good man”, as she very faithfully supported and encouraged him in all his endeavors. He preceded her in death January 12, 2004.
Alta is survived by one sister, Virginia Baker of Campbellsville; two sisters-in-law, Rowena Hines of Nashville, Tennessee and Grace Counts of Elizabeth, Colorado; five nieces and nephews: Kenneth Baker and wife, Kimberly, Mitzi Hensley Crenshaw and husband, Joe, Sanford Hensley and wife, Angie, Kelly Hines and wife, Heather, Amy Counts Smith and husband, Brian; her dear friend, Helen Vaughn of Campbellsville; several great nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother, T. J. Adams.
