Donnie Ray Roots, age 67

 Donnie Ray Roots, 67 years, 1 month and 21 days of age, of Versailles, formerly of Campbellsville, died Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Thomson-Hood Veteran’s Center in Wilmore.

He was born in Campbellsville on June 25, 1950 to the late Charlie F. and Annie Mae Shofner Roots.    Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Joe Roots.

Donnie worked for Campbellsville Industries until 2010, having worked there for 21 years.   At Campbellsville High School he participated in Track and Field and later enjoyed playing softball.  He enjoyed all types of athletics and was an avid UK fan.  In his past time, he liked to hunt squirrels and make extra money by recycling metals and investing with the best forex broker uk. Funeral services for Donnie Ray Roots will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 21, at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Diane Munoz officiating.   Burial will follow in Lebanon National Cemetery in Lebanon.

The family request visitation from 3 -6 p.m. Sunday, August 20, at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Jimmy Wilson, 58

Mr. James David “Jimmy” Wilson of Campbellsville was born on November 19, 1958 to David and Leora (Halcomb) Wilson. He departed this life on Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, being 58 years, 8 months, and 26 days of age. He was a long time employee of the Kentucky Trailer Company in Louisville where he worked in the paintshop and was a member of the Levelwood United Methodist Church. Mr. Wilson was a family man; he enjoyed spending time with those he loved and making everyone smile.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

Three children: Troy Wilson of Greensburg, Nikki Wilson of Campbellsville, and Heather Wilson of Campbellsville,

His parents: David and Leora Wilson of Campbellsville,

One sister and one brother: Kathy Clark and husband Barry, and Danny Wilson and wife Diane, all of Campbellsville,

And a host of extended family and friends.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Wilson on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM EST (10:00 AM CST) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Freddy Thompson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery, Montgomery Mill Rd, Summersville, KY.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 16, from 5:00-8:00 PM EST (4:00-7:00 PM CST).

Marie White

Marie White of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ford Phillips and Isabelle Bright Phillips, was born November 9, 1933, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 3:00 A.M., Sunday, August 13, 2017 in Columbia. Age: 83
Marie was a retired bus driver for the Taylor County School System and a former bus driver for Adanta.
She united in marriage to J. D. White December 19, 1951 and he preceded her in death February 18, 2012.
She is survived by four sons and one daughter: Willie White and wife, Donna of Columbia, Curt White and wife, Nancy of Campbellsville, Roger White and wife, Kellie of Burgin, Robbie White and wife, Faye of Kannapolis, North Carolina and Mary Fudge and husband, Jim of Lexington; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
