Ruby Ann Darnell Williams

Ruby Ann Darnell Williams, of Campbellsville, daughter of the late L. E. Darnell and Stella Hayes Darnell, was born November 26, 1924, in Russell County, Kentucky and later moved to Taylor County at age two. She died at 6:00 A.M., Monday, May 15, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 92
She professed faith in Christ at age eleven and was a member the longest of anyone at Campbellsville Baptist Church. She had a heart for serving her church and her family.
She attended Campbellsville College and Bowling Green Business College and taught in one room schools and at Taylor County High School. She also assisted her husband in his law practice.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Williams, Jr. after forty-five years of marriage.
Ruby is survived by one son and two daughters: Tom Williams and wife, Gale of Houston, Texas, Janie Forman and husband, Gary of Frankfort, and Sue Shaw and husband, David of Lexington; five grandchildren: Adam Williams, Melissa Forman Ballard, Stan Forman, Patrick Shaw and Meredith Shaw Forssman; five great-grandchildren: Lana Forman, Mason Forman, Eli Ballard, Ruby Ballard and Olive Williams; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by seven sisters and two brothers.

The family would like to especially thank her caregiver, Pat Simpson.

Estelle Cox, 92

Mrs. Estelle Cox of Campbellsville was born on March 16, 1925 in Taylor County to the late Noah Edmund and Dora Cetta (Tucker) Garrett. She departed this life on Thursday, May 11, 2017 in Columbia at the home of her daughter after an extended illness. She was 92 years, 1 month, and 25 days of age. Mrs. Cox professed faith in Christ and attended the International Gospel Lighthouse Church in Acton. She enjoyed conversing with people, and was the owner of the Echo Valley Grocery Store in Mannsville.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

One daughter: Carolyn Campbell of Columbia,

One sister: Susan Pendleton and husband Raymond of Campbellsville,

Three grandchildren: Dennis Campbell and wife Jeanie of New Castle, Dena Litchfield and husband Mike of Campbellsville, and Niko Campbell of Columbia,

Four great-grandchildren: Jordan Campbell, Tristan Campbell and wife Kristany, Sarah Litchfield, and Ben Litchfield,

One great-great grandchild: Dexter Campbell,

And a host of extended family and close friends.

She was also preceded in death by a husband, James Oakley Cox, and four siblings, William Garrett, Earl Garrett, Ada Cox, and Jesse Garrett.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Cox on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 1:00 PM EST (12 CST) in the sanctuary of the International Gospel Lighthouse Church, 99 Lighthouse Rd, Acton, KY. Pastor Anna Overstreet will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Jones Chapel Cemetery, Hwy 1752, Taylor County, KY.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 14, from 5:00-8:00 PM EST (4-7 PM CST) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY.

Barbara Newcomb Moore

Barbara Newcomb Moore, of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Isaac Tate Newcomb and Harriet Susan Richerson Newcomb, was born February 12, 1932 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 1:20 A.M., Monday, May 15, 2017 in Greensburg. Age: 85
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church where she played the piano and organ for approximately forty years.
She attended Campbellsville College and taught piano in one room schools in Taylor and Green Counties.
She united in marriage to Holland P. Moore February 26, 1954 and he preceded her in death on July 11, 2005.
Barbara is survived by one son and two daughters: Billy Tate Moore of Somerset, Suellen Haynes and husband, Marvin and Julianne Moore of Campbellsville; one granddaughter, Amber K. Hill and husband, Dartanya, II of Louisville; one great-grandson, Dartanya Sir Holland Hill, III of Louisville; one step-grandson, Chad Haynes and wife, Amanda of Auburn; three step-great-grandchildren: Arik Haynes, Wesley Haynes and Rebecca Haynes of Auburn; one brother, Larry Newcomb of Campbellsville; one sister-in-law, Lynette Newcomb of LaGrange;
several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Noel Newcomb and Harry Newcomb.
