Ruby Wise of Wooleyville Road, Campbellsville, daughter of the late Robert A. Cox and Nona J. Phillips Cox was born January 6, 1914, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 1:35 A.M., Saturday, September 13, 2003, in Campbellsville. Age: 89 She had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. She united in marriage to O. A. (Almon) Wise June 2, 1934. He preceded her in death March 17, 1994. She is survived by two nephews and five nieces: Larry Grooms and his wife, Judy, Jerry Cox and Sharon Feese of Campbellsville, Patricia Reed of Mannsville, Judy Antle of Jamestown, Pacola Sue Gray of Hammond, Indiana, and Lana Sue Dudgeon of Elizabethtown; a great niece and nephew, Robbie Grooms of Campbellsville and Janet Miller of Phoenix, Arizona and several other great nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother: Helen A. James Cecil Rogers, of Vintage Lane, Campbellsville, son of the late Ulis Lee Rogers and Ada Finn Rogers was born in Adair County, Kentucky January 17, 1927. He died at 11:42 P.M. Thursday, September 4, 2003 in Michigan due to an accidental fall. Age: 76 He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country in the United States Army. He was a retired employee of Klemp Metal and Grating Corporation in Chicago, Illinois. He united in marriage to Jean Cundiff December 24, 1948. Besides his wife, Jean Rogers, of Vintage Lane, Campbellsville, he is survived by five children: Robert Rogers of Wayland, Michigan, Lisa Mazzanti of Lombard, Illinois, Bonnie Gentry of Lake Village, Indiana, Thomas Lee Rogers of Orland Park, Illinois and James Michael Rogers of Dyer, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother: Hallie Scott of Cookeville, Tennessee, Elva Gabehart of Columbia, Kentucky and John Haskel Rogers of Gradyville, Kentucky; several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters: Ernest Rogers, Ogle Rogers, Harold Rogers, Lee Earl Rogers, Herman Rogers, Arvest Rogers, Louis Carl Rogers , Beatrice Scott, Stella Collins, Urene Murrell and Marie Kemp. Charlie Lackey of Feather Creek Road, Campbellsville, son of the late Charlie B. Lackey and Nellie Gibbons Lackey was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky, April 2, 1935. He died at 2:00 A.M. Sunday, September 7, 2003 in Campbellsville.Age: 68 He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. Samuel B. Conner age 86, of Shawnee Drive, Campbellsville, was born in Knox County, Tennessee, March 20, 1917. He was carried gently on the wings of love to the bosom of Jesus on Thursday, September 4, 2003. He was the son of Granville and Rena Conner who preceded him in death. His only daughter, Wanda Rodgers, preceded him in death, as well as a sister, Beulah Conner and a brother, Lynn G. Conner. He was saved at the age of 9 and called to preach at age 22. He pastored several churches in Tennessee and Kentucky, was chaplain at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital for ten years, and was a clinical psychologist for the remainder of his working career. He has been a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church since 1973. He taught Sunday School and was a Departmental Director for several years before becoming ill. He is a graduate of Carson-Newman College, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, North Carolina Baptist Hospital School of Pastoral Care and Murray State University with a degree in Clinical Psychology with Autonomous Functioning to practice independently.He has been a member of the Rotary Club for fifty plus years, receiving the Paul Harris Fellowship Award.
