Mrs. Olivia Durham Tomes, age 94, passed away at the Brookridge Retirement Home on March 11, 2002. She was the daughter of the late Ollie Farris and Charles Matt Durham. Mrs. Tomes was born March 28, 1907 in Campbellsville, Kentucky where she resided for 91 years. She accepted Christ at age 11 and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. She was an officer of her Sunday school class as well as holding several offices during her active years. She was a member of the David Allen Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. After the death of her husband, Robert Clelland Durham, she managed the Campbellsville Produce Company. Mrs. Tomes was the widow of Earl Ray Tomes. Mrs. Tomes is survived by her son, Robert B. Durham and wife Betty of Lexington, Kentucky, her daughter, JoAnna Durham Tudor and husband Bynum of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and one step-son and wife, Bobby Ray and Margaret Tomes of Campbellsville. Threegrandsons, Robert S. Creekmore of Baltimore, Maryland, John C. Creekmore and wife Maggie of Roanoke, Virginia and Brian L. Durham and Wife Mandy of Lexington,Kentucky, three granddaughters, Olivia C. Miller and Hannah R. Creekmore of Baltimore,MD, Sarah Durham Creekmore of Roanoke, Virginia, one step-grandson, Barry Tomes of Campbellsville, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday. March 16, 2002, at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Brookside Cemetery. Dr. J. Chester Badgett officiated. Estel Walsh Snapp, age 61, of Saybrook Court, Lexington, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Wallace A. Bardin and Pauline Sanders Bardin Janes was born in Adair County, Kentucky, April 12, 1940. She died at 4:50 A.M., Friday, March 8, 2002 in Lexington. Elizabelle Jeanie Bailey, age 79, of Cristland Road, Louisville, died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at the Caritas Medical Center in Louisville, after an illness. She was the daughter of Mrs. Perna Davenport of Greensburg, Kentucky. Mrs. Bailey was a retired employee of the Bellsouth phone company in Louisville and was preceded in death by two sons, Jackie L. Bailey and Jerry Dale Bailey and one brother, Hubert Davenport. Besides her mother, Perna Davenport, Mrs. Bailey is survived by three grandchildren, Tim Bailey of Decatur, Alabama, Pam Cole ofHuntsville, Alabama, and Bryan Bailey of Louisville, and three great-grandchildren. Several other relatives also survive along with ahost of friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabelle Jeanie Bailey were held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday,March 6, 2002, at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Macedonia Cemetery in Green County. Reverend John Batcher officiated.

JOE W. MITCHELL, age 76, of Vintage Lane, Campbellsville, son of the late Selby Mitchell and Catherine White Mitchell, was born in Green County, Kentucky, July 20, 1925. He died at 3:25 A.M., Monday, March 4, 2002, in Campbellsville. He had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of World War II, having served his country in the United States Navy. He united in marriage to Hazel Keltner January 27, 1946. Besides his wife, Hazel Mitchell of Vintage Lane, Campbellsville, he is survived by one daughter and two sons and spouses: Vickie Terry Gray of Campbellsville, Bradley Donna Mitchell of Greensburg, and Terry Sharon Mitchell of Marshall, Texas; eight grandchildren: Mallory Mitchell, Terrance Mitchell, and Meredith Mitchell of Marshall, Texas, Mandy Magers and Jordan Finn of Campbellsville, and Lynbree Mitchell, Tasha Mitchell, and Jamie Jeffries of Greensburg; one great-granddaughter, Savannah Magers of Campbellsville; one brother and two sisters and spouses: James Wyona Mitchell, Margaret Dowell, and Peggy Bobby Chewning of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Frances Sublett, age 83, of Regency Court, Campbellsville, daughter of the late Carl Sprowles and Maggie Spurling Sprowles, was born November 23, 1918, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 9:03 P.M., Friday, March 1, 2002, in Campbellsville. She had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Campbellsville where she taught Sunday School for twenty years and was a member of the Chancel Choir for over thirty years. She retired as a cashier from the Taylor County RECC in 1980, after more than twenty-five years of employment. She united in marriage to Richard Sublett September 6, 1942. Besides her husband Richard Sublett of Regency Court, Campbellsville, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Pirie K. and Kathy Sublett of San Diego, California; one brother and sister-in-law, George and Frances Sprowles of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Lewis Carl Sprowles in infancy. FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 5th at the Parrott Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Rev.
