Ethel Farmer, 90

 Mrs. Ethel (Kilby) Farmer of Campbellsville was born on August 24, 1929 to the late Curtis and Laura Emma (Jones) Kilby. She departed this life on Friday, August 21, 2020 in Greensburg at the Green Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, being 90 years, 11 months, and 28 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. In 1979, Mrs. Farmer retired from Fruit of the Loom after 24 ½ years of employment, and was a devoted wife and homemaker to Mr. Orval Farmer, who preceded her in death in 1999.
   She leaves to mourn her passing:
   Three children: Gary Lee Farmer and wife Janet of Elk Horn, Betty Ann Floyd of Campbellsville, and Marsha Greer of Campbellsville,
   A brother: Claude Kilby of Campbellsville,
   Nine grandchildren: Doug Floyd, David Floyd, Brett Lee Farmer, Abby Farmer, Ryan Farmer, Danny Ray Bailey, Jr., LaDonna Sue Kearnes, Sonja Tucker, and Jeffrey Lynn Bailey,
   Twenty-three great grandchildren,
   Fifteen great-great grandchildren,
   And a host of other family and friends.
   She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter: Linda Farmer; two brothers: Odell Kilby and Ambrose Kilby; and four sisters: Nellie Cochran, Lela Jones, Vinnie Cox, and one more in infancy.
   The family will receive friends for a walk-through visitation in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY on Tuesday, August 25, from 10:30-12:30, followed by a private funeral service. She will be laid to rest in the Brockman Cemetery beside her husband.
   Current social distancing guidelines will be in effect and masks are required.

Allen Owen Wilson, 49

Allen Owen Wilson, the son of the late Lester Owen and Betty Jean (Bolt) Wilson, was born September 6, 1970 in Casey County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 in Louisville at the Norton Hospital. He was 49 years of age.

He enjoyed watching UK Basketball and visits from his family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Anita Joan Wilson in 2014.

He is survived by two aunts: Lula Baldwin of Campbellsville, and Gladys Hughes of Liberty; an uncle: Nathan Bolt of Fairdale, and a host of cousins, and other relatives and friends.

A graveside service for Allen Owen Wilson will be conducted Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at the Old Contown Cemetery in Casey County. Bro. Danny Baldwin will be officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Zelma Downey, 63

Zelma Louise Downey, age 63 of Campbellsville, died Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Baptist Health in Louisville. She was born July 22, 1956 in Shelbyville. She was retired from the Federal Social Security Administration and was a member of God’s Grace Church in Campbellsville.

She is survived by her mother: Sylvia Clark Downey of Eminence; one brother: Bobby Downey of Eminence; one adopted daughter: Robin Michele Burton (Gary) of Campbellsville; niece and nephew: Rina Borders and Jonathan Downey; and great-niece: Samantha Downey. She was preceded in death by her father, Sam Downey.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Rev. Jacky Newton, pastor of Franklinton Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Franklinton Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2020 and from 11 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday.

Mrs. Lauren Bailey (Hurt) Bridgewater of Campbellsville was born on April 5, 1985 in Henderson. She departed this life on Saturday, February 1, 2020 in Louisville at the Jewish Hospital, being 34 years, 9 months, and 27 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Her unconventional and independent spirit will be dearly missed.

She leaves to mourn her passing:

Her husband: Joseph Wayne Bridgewater of Campbellsville,

Six children: Enoch, Emery, Jayden, Joseph, Isaac, and Tatum,

Her parents: Mary Ann Wilson and husband Graylin of Edmonton, and Edward Earl Hurt and wife Gina of Henderson,

One sister: Morgan Hurt of Henderson,

And a host of other family and friends.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Bridgewater on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Shawn Coffey will be officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Brookside Cemetery immediately following the service.

Jane Gilpin, 94

Mrs. Irma Jane Gilpin of Campbellsville was born on February 18, 1925 to the late Ben and Emma (Stillwell) Thompson. She departed this life on Friday, January 31, 2020 in Campbellsville, being 94 years, 11 months, and 13 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Soules Chapel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Gilpin was the devoted wife of Mr. Edwin Gilpin, who preceded her in death on April 18, 2009 after 58 years of marriage. She was a retiree of Fruit of the Loom and an exceptional cook. Always cherishing life’s blessings, she never met a stranger, and equally shared her kindness and love with all she knew.

She leaves to mourn her passing:

Her brother-in-law: Nolan “Hotshot” Gilpin and wife Shirley,

A special niece and caretaker: Sue Clarke-Goodin and husband Gary,

And a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers: James Thompson, Albert Thompson, J.B. Thompson, Freddie Thompson, and Edward Thompson; and two sisters: Betty Young and Hazel Roark.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Gilpin on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Ronnie Dooley will be officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Lebanon National Cemetery with her husband immediately following the service.
