Ursula Finegan, 80

Mrs. Ursula K. Finegan of the Cane Valley community passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, December 20, 2018 after an illness. Born on November 16, 1938 in Bremen, Germany to the late Fredrick and Eleanora (Wollman) Krueger, she was 80 years, 1 month, and 3 days of age. She was a homemaker, wife, mother, and friend, and instilled her legacy and Christian values in her children. She enjoyed reading, especially things of solid moral value, and raising a garden and flowers.
She leaves to cherish her memory:
Five children: Jimmy Ray Finegan and wife Cindy of Washington, Robert Lee Finegan and wife Shawna of Tennessee, Bilinda Lines and husband Jimmy of Cane Valley, Angelica Ann Melton and husband Shane of Georgia, and Regina Eleanora Harshaw and husband Chris of Tennessee,
Two siblings: Gisela Grother and Garett Vondenberg, both of Germany,
Nineteen grandchildren,
Ten great-grandchildren,
Her furry friends: Pepper and Dexter,
And a host of other family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rayvel George Finegan, and a son, Roy “Norm” Finegan.
Cremation rites were accorded her by the L. R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Campbellsville, KY. There will be a memorial service held to honor her life at her home on a later date.

Gerrie E. Parker, 77

Mrs. Gerrie Elizabeth (Kilby) Parker departed this world on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab Center. Born on April 20, 1941 to Mrs. Herlene (McGaha) Kilby and the late Mr. Lendolph Kilby, she was 77 years, 7 months, and 21 days of age. She was the cherished wife of, and proud homemaker to, Mr. Harlin Parker, who preceded her in death in 2011. She took pleasure in her work as a babysitter and childcare provider, and carried that love and compassion all the days of her life. Mrs. Parker had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Robinson Chapel Separate Baptist Church. Always artistic, she enjoyed creating colorful drawings and collecting teddy bears, but she was happiest and most content when she had a baby on her lap.

She leaves to cherish her memory: five children: Douglas Wayne Parker and wife Renee of South Carolina, Diana Lynn Lenington and husband Roger of Danville, Kim Knifley and husband Joe of Elk Horn, Amy Hicks and husband Carl of Campbellsville, and Renay Wethington and husband Mike of Campbellsville; her mother: Mrs. Herlene Kilby of Campbellsville; a sister: Shirley Matney and husband Gene of Campbellsville; brothers-in-law: Johnny Parker and wife Jean of Elk Horn, Ron Parker of Florida; three sisters-in-law: Betty Parker of Elk Horn, Patsy Riggs of Illinois, and Burma Wheeler of Campbellsville; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Parker on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Clay Wheeler and Bro. Raymond Atwood will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Green River Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, 3441 Old Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 12, from 5:00-8:00 PM.

Ernest Gotham, 79

Mr. Ernest McLain “Ernie” Gotham of the Breeding community in Adair County departed this life on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville after a brief illness. Born on April 4, 1939 in Norwood, Massachusetts, he was 79 years, 8 months, and 5 days of age. Mr. Gotham was a retired police detective and was of the Christian faith. He spent his later years enjoying crossword puzzles, eating too much candy, and watching his Boston Red Sox create a Major League dynasty. As a historical enthusiast, there wasn’t much he didn’t know about the Civil War, and his appreciation for all things athletic served him well as an umpire and referee.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

Five children, Lisa Gotham and fiancé Anthony Vickery of Columbia, Chris Gotham of Breeding, and Kristy Gotham-Flynn, Richard Gotham, and Susan Gotham-Hildreth, all of Massachusetts,

One local grandchild, Amelia Vickery, and several extended grandchildren,

A former spouse, Barbara Lionetti of Breeding,

One niece, Bridgette Flynn-Bennett and husband Christian, and their son, James,

And a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Wedge Gotham, a son and daughter, David Gotham and Ashley Gotham, and his sister, Beverly Flynn.

Cremation was chosen, and a memorial service will be announced and conducted at a later date in Massachusetts.

Glenn Spratt, 92

Mr. Arland Glenn Spratt of the Mt. Carmel community in Taylor County passed from this life on Saturday, December 8, 2018. Born on October 18, 1926 to the late Ray and Annie (Skaggs) Spratt, he was 92 years, 1 month, and 20 days of age. Mr. Spratt had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He was a retired school bus driver for the Taylor County School System and a lifelong farmer. His passion, however, was spending quality time with his cherished bride, Mrs. Ruby (Rucker) Spratt, and together they had shared over 66 years of marriage before her passing in April 2017. It was a favorite pastime of both to RV camp, and they spent many an entire summer parked at Site 36 at Green River State Park, where they enjoyed watersports as much as lounging.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

A sister: Dorothy Pierce of Campbellsville,

Close nephews and caretakers who were loved and raised and sons: Chad Rucker and wife Stacy of Calvary, and Kevin Rucker and companion Chris of Florida,

Two grandsons: Ben Smith of Campbellsville, and Bryan Smith of Lebanon,

Three great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Hannah, and Sadie,

Great nieces and nephews: Brittany, Tyler, Peyton, Braydon, and Jayden,

Close brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Mary and Dickie Kirtley of Campbellsville, and Steve and Marilyn Rucker of Elizabethtown,

Close friend: Roger Lee Beams of Campbellsville.

And a host of other family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Sue Shofner; a brother-in-law, Bill Pierce; and one grandson, Travis Smith.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Spratt on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Freddy Thompson will be officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, 58 DeWitt Rd, Campbellsville, KY, immediately following the service.

Anna B. Hovious Perkins, 90

Mrs. Anna B. (Hovious) Perkins of Knifley, the daughter of the late J.B. and Flora Gertrude (Pike) Hovious, was born Sunday, July 15, 1928 in Adair County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in Campbellsville. She was 90 years, 4 months and 20 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Robinson Chapel Separate Baptist Church in Knifley and was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and a homemaker.

She enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers beds, and raised the prettiest lilies around.

She united in marriage to Montie Perkins on April 7, 1947, who preceded her in death on June 23, 1986. She later united in marriage to L.J. Tucker, who preceded her in death on July 21, 2016.

Survivors include four daughters: Margie White of Campbellsville, and Mary Jo Berry, Linda Perkins and husband Bobby, and Judy Perkins, all of Knifley,

Ten step-children,

Six grandchildren: Steven White, Marsha Woodrum and husband Michael, Rhonda Perkins Leite and husband Junior, Chasity Coleman and husband Jeff, Chris Berry and wife Patricia, and Patrick Perkins,

Ten great-grandchildren,

One great-great grandchild,

Her three cherished dogs: Missy, Troubles, and Ollie,

And a host of step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Besides her husbands, Mrs. Perkins was preceded in death by six siblings: Lucy Davis, Edna Wilson, Bonnie Pike, Audrey Loy, Wallace Hovious, and Dean Hovious; three half-siblings: Paul Hovious, Zelma Merritt, and Lois Crouch.

The funeral service for Anna Berniece (Hovious) Perkins, will be Friday at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Michael Woodrum will be officiating.

Visitation will be after 10 AM Friday until time for the service.
