Michael Eugene Perkins, 69

Michael Eugene Perkins, of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late Doris (Perkins) Deering, was born April 21, 1956 in Taylor County and departed this life on Friday, May 9, 2025 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 69 years of age.

He was a former bridge builder and fruit of the Loom employee and was of the Baptist Faith.

Michael enjoyed fishing, but working on cars and motorcycles was his pride and joy.

Besides his mother, he was preceded in death his step-father: Bobby Deering and a brother: Terry Thorpe.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Annette (Garrett) Perkins; two sons: Joshua Perkins and Jeremy Perkins and wife Breeanna, all of Campbellsville; a sister: Connie Gullett of Louisville.

Also four grandchildren: Jaxon, Mia and Carson Perkins and Jacob Gunter, Jr., and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Michael Eugene Perkins will be Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home

 Interment in the Brookside Cemetery.

 Visitation from 5-8 P.M. on Monday and after 8 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mary Kathryn Lawson, 100

Mary Kathryn Lawson, the daughter of the late William Blane “Little Bill” and Mary Liza (Johnson) Barnett, was born August 6, 1924, in Campbellsville and departed this life on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab. She was 100 years of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Faith Alive Church, and a former employee of Fruit of the Loom.

Her greatest loves was for the Lord, singing southern gospel songs, cooking, quilting, and spending time with her children.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Lawson, in 2010, a daughter, Geraldine Brewer, in 2015, and a son, Ira Kenneth Lawson, as an infant.

Also preceding her in death was six brothers: Leonard, Huley, James, Owen Thomas, Richard, and Everett “Dude” Barnett; four sisters: Velma Christerson, Clara Brown, Mattie Lou Price, and Ester Roberts.

Survivors include two daughters and two sons: Dorothy Little and husband Earl of Campbellsville, Betty Nations and husband Buster of Milsap, TX, Jerry Lawson and Terry Lawson and wife Kathy all of Campbellsville; a brother: Ralph Barnett and wife Dorothy of Mt. Washington; a special nephew: Ray Barnett and wife Charlene of Mt. Washington; four grandchildren and a host of great- grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Mary Kathryn Lawson will be Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Bro. David Boils will be officiating.

Family requests visitation on Thursday after 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

Ray Allen Cox of the Mannsville, KY Community, the son of the late Hershel and Hazel (Garrett) Cox was born June 19, 1944 in Marion County and departed this life on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at his home.

He was 80 years of age.

He was a general contractor and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.

Ray enjoyed golfing, riding Harley motorcycles and spending time with family and friends

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (Followell) in 1995; two brothers: Robert and Curtis Cox.

Survivors include his children: Leslie Morris, Joanie Miller and husband Billy, Brandon Cox and wife Debra, Allen Cox, Beth Ann Veatch and husband Dannie, Cathy Null and husband Matthew and David Cox and a host of grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Ray Allen Cox will be Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Fairview Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Tallow Creek Cemetery.

 Rev. Robert Morris will be officiating.

 Family requests visitation on Monday from 5-8 P.M. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home (Campbellsville Chapel) and after 9:00 A.M. Tuesday at the church.

Bernie Davenport, 68

Mr. Bernie Darcell Davenport of Campbellsville, formerly of Radcliff, was born in Louisville on December 15, 1956 to the late Ovie and Vera Opal (Jeffries) Davenport. He departed this life on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at his home, being 68 years of age. He was a retired IT specialist and Webmaster, and was most recently employed at Elizabethtown Technical College. He was known to be a free spirit, and was a talented artist and graphic designer.

Besides his parents, Mr. Davenport was also preceded in death by a sister.

He is survived by:

Two children: Tabitha Polley and husband Lucas of Campbellsville, and Noah Davenport,

A sister and brother-in-law,

A granddaughter: Alexandra Polley,

And several extended family members and friends.

Mr. Davenport had chosen cremation and those wishes were entrusted to the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Campbellsville.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials take the form of donations to the charity of your choice.

Joseph William “Bill” Reynolds, Jr

Joseph William “Bill” Reynolds, Jr, of Upton, KY, the son of the late Joseph William, Sr, and Ruby Aline (Pottinger) Reynolds, was born December 23, 1942 in Nelson County, KY and departed this life on Saturday, April 12, 2025 in Glasgow at the T.J. Samson Hospital. He was 82 years of age.

He was a Veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corps, and was of the Baptist Faith.

Bill enjoyed photography, all sports, genealogy, animals, and spending time with family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Reynolds.

Survivors include his wife Donna (Abell) Reynolds of Upton, having united in marriage on April 14, 1963; three children: Bonnie Wilson and husband Wayne of North Carolina, Kimberley Bomar and husband Andy of Bagdad, KY, and Joe Reynolds and wife Michele of Missouri.

Also two sisters: Lula Reynolds of Louisville, Nancy Clark and husband Jim of Owensboro; six grandchildren: Kayla Howard and husband Chris, Joey Reynolds and wife Melissa, Leigh Wilson, Justin Reynolds and wife Tori, Avery Wilson and Gracie Smith; two great-grandchildren: Joseph and Lilly Reynolds and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Bill Reynolds will be Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, Campbellsville Chapel, with burial to follow in the St. Joe Cemetery in Marion County, KY, with Military Honors.

Dr. Wayne Wilson and Lula Reynolds will be officiating.
