Naomi C. Paxton of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Cloyd and Amelia (Jones) Martin, was born August 19, 1936 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. She was 89 years of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom for over 43 years.
She enjoyed working in the yard, loved flowers, cleaning and spending time with family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death a brother and two sisters: Melvin Douglas Martin, Margaret Cross and Betty Sprowles.
Survivors include a daughter: Deborah Gray of Campbellsville; her chosen children: Susan Bryant and husband Kevin of Campbellsville and Robert D. Gray and wife Karen of Bowling Green.
Also her chosen grandchildren: Blake Sprowles and wife Ashley, Lexie Turpin and husband Brady, Brooke Gupton and husband Josh, her chosen great-grandchildren: Chandler and Gentry Turpin, Tripp Sprowles, Lexie Kate Gupton, Joshua and Jacob Gray; a special niece: Sheila Douglas and husband Billy Joe and a host of other relatives and friends.
The service for Naomi C. Paxton, will be conducted privately at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home.

Entombment: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Mary Alice Garrett, of Elk Horn, the daughter of the late Herman and Elizabeth (Simpson) Fisher, was born January 18, 1951 in Marion County and departed this life on Saturday, July 4, 2026 in Lexington at the Bluegrass Hospice Healthcare. She was 75 years of age.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time with her grandkids and was proud of having read the Bible completely twelve times and working with her husband in tobacco.
Survivors include: three children: Nancy Lee Tungate and her companion Doug Warren of Campbellsville, Curtis Garrett and his wife Lisa of Merrimac, and Amanda Tucker and her husband Justin of Knifley.
Eight grandchildren: Hope Garrett, Cody Garrett (Renee Corbin), Brittany Tungate (Chris Compton), Kelsey Garrett (Austin Harris), Bridget Tungate, Johnny Murphy, Garrett Tucker, and Emily Garrett, and four great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is two brothers and a sister: Melvin Fisher (Melissa), Ethel Smothers (Charles) and Daniel Fisher; special sister-in-law: Julie Fisher; special niece: Jessica Fisher and special friend: Stephanie Wise.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Curtis “Buddy” Garrett on March 1, 2026, a great-grandchild Addison Bray and three brothers: William, David and Lonnie Fisher.
Funeral Service: 1 PM Thursday, July 9, 2026 at L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Old Liberty Cemetery.
Bro. Mark Harrison will officiate.
Visitation: Wednesday, 5-8 PM at the funeral home.

Bernice “Bernie” Wayne Maupin, 88, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, at UofL Health–Jewish Hospital in Louisville Kentucky.
Born on May 14, 1938, in Gradyville, Kentucky, to Thomas and Bertha Maupin, Bernie lived a life marked by hard work, unwavering faith, and deep love for his family. He was the devoted husband of Leola Maupin, with whom he shared 66 wonderful years of marriage.
Bernie is survived by his loving wife, Leola Maupin; his son, Gary Maupin; his son, Timmy Maupin and his wife, Debbie; and his daughter, Donna Blakeman and her husband, Barry. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Scott Blakeman and his wife, Danielle; Luke Maupin; Christopher Blakeman and his wife, Abi; Blake Maupin and his wife, Maggie; Hunter Maupin and his partner, Kristen Miles; and Hayden Maupin. He also leaves behind three cherished great-grandchildren, Silas Blakeman, Mila Blakeman, and Cade Maupin. In addition, he is survived by his brother, Phillip Maupin; his sister, Peggy Maupin; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Jimmy Maupin; daughter-in-law, Bridget Maupin; and sister, Ortence Cunningham.
For more than 30 years, Bernie faithfully served as the Greenskeeper and Superintendent at Campbellsville Country Club. He took great pride in his work and earned the respect of everyone who knew him through his dedication, strong work ethic, and willingness to serve others.
Bernie was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a faithful member of Beech Grove Baptist Church in Black Gnat, Kentucky. His faith was the foundation of his life and was evident in the kindness, generosity, and compassion he showed to everyone he met. He was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever someone was in need.
A gifted woodworker and gardener, Bernie enjoyed working with his hands and took pride in doing every job well. He loved golfing, hunting, spending time outdoors, and watching classic westerns on television. Family and friends could often hear him quoting commercials from Fox News or laughing as he said, “This ain’t my first rodeo.”
Above all else, Bernie loved his family and loved the Lord. His greatest joy was spending time with those he loved, and he leaves behind a legacy of faith, hard work, generosity, and unconditional love that will continue through the generations.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville, Kentucky at 2 p.m. with visitation starting at 12 p.m. eastern time

Though Bernie’s presence will be greatly missed, his family rejoices in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and finds comfort knowing he is now home with his Savior.

Allie Woodrum of Campbellsville, the daughter of William Gerald and Christina Woodrum and Karen and Keith Wood, was born January 2, 1998 in Danville, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was 28 years of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the New Journey Church in Campbellsville and was a Senior HR Generalist at Manchester Tank in Campbellsville.
She enjoyed riding motorcycles with her fiancé Phil, playing volleyball, swimming, traveling and spending time with her son and other family, but will be known mostly for her big heart and her contagious smile that would brighten the dimmest room.
She enjoyed remodeling and decorating her home.
Survivors include her parents: William and Christina Woodrum of Virginia and Karen and Keith Wood of Campbellsville.
Her son: Knox Dunlap.
Three sisters and three brothers: Kaitlin Woodrum (Justin), Shelby Wood (Bryan), Jessica Hazuga, Mitchell King, John Robert Wood and Thomas (Nicky) Litherland.
Her fiance’: Phillip Medina; her grandparents: Ina Atwood, Danny and Sandra Wood and Regina Hazuga.
She was preceded in death by grandparents: Ernest Atwood, Jr, William Amos Woodrum, Laura Ruth Hoskins and Arnold Hazuga.
Funeral Service: Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at the New Journey Church in Campbellsville, conducted by L.R. Petty Funeral Home.
Officiating: Bro. Josh Pedigo
Interment: Eastridge Cemetery
Visitation: 5-8 PM on Tuesday and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church.

Sue Yaden of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late James Randall Mays and Ada Mae Milby Mays, was born September 13, 1943, in Louisville, and departed this life on June 28, 2026, in Lexington. She was 82 years of age.
She professed faith in Christ and attended the Campbellsville Baptist Temple. She was a retired teacher, and enjoyed creative writing, piano, art, and Civil War history.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Wright, and one brother, Michael Mays.
She is survived by her husband, David Yaden of Campbellsville, five children, Susan Wright, Jenny Wright Coffey, Ken Wright, Jeff Wright, and Jim Wright. Two step-children, David Hickman Yaden, and Irma Lou Smothers. Nine grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, one special cousin, Carol Dillard, and other relatives and friends.
There will be a Graveside Service for Sue Yaden at 2:00 PM EST on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the Pearl Webb Cemetery in Canmer, KY.
Bro Matt Boehnlein will officiate.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 6-8 PM at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville.
