Weldon Shreve, 63

Mr. Weldon Wonless “Buddy” Shreve of Campbellsville passed from this life on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset after a lengthy illness. Born on June 22, 1955 to the late Bryan and Nancy Gay (Lawson) Shreve, he was 63 years, 3 months, and 15 days of age. Mr. Shreve was a former employee of Union Underwear and a sawmill worker, but spent most of his leisure time fishing or playing with grandchildren.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

Two children: Joyce Ann Shreve of Edmonton, and Anthony Shreve of Campbellsville,

Two sisters: Mable Perkins of Elkhorn, and Liz Wethington of Campbellsville,

A half sister: Mary Elizabeth Miller and husband John Paul of Florida,

Five grandchildren: Kaitlyn Graham, Courtney Graham, Bryan Shreve, Sierra Shreve, and Carli Shreve,

And a host of nieces, Nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

There will be a memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Shreve on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville. To fulfill his last wishes, cremation will be accorded him and his ashes will be laid to rest in the Jones Chapel Cemetery, Hwy 1752, Taylor County, KY.

The family will receive friends friends at the funeral home on Saturday, Oct 13, from 10:00 AM until time for the service.

Florence Mitchell Rhodes, daughter of the late Walter Taylor and Ruth Kidwell Taylor, was born July 14, 1932, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 12:28 P.M., Monday, October 8, 2018 in Campbellsville. Age: 86
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church.
Florence was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and was an avid Coca Cola collector.
She united in marriage to James Lenwood Mitchell February 3, 1951 and he preceded her in death October 14, 2004. She later united in marriage to Bert Rhodes, Jr. April 9, 2014.

Besides her husband, Bert Rhodes, Jr. of Campbellsville, she is survived by two brothers and one sister: Mike Taylor and wife, Beverly, Jim Taylor and wife, Delois and Helen Walker all of Campbellsville; one sister-in-law, Laura Taylor of Campbellsville; three nieces and two nephews; one step-son and two step-daughters: David Rhodes and wife, Leslie and Patricia Wheat and husband, Doug of Campbellsville and Betty Harmon of Lebanon; six step-grandchildren: Jennie Connor and husband, Tony of Lexington, Ben Benningfield and wife, Brooke, Whitney Tungate and husband, Ryan, Jennifer Berry and husband, Cody, Rachel Cunha and husband, Raphael of Campbellsville and Amy Watkins and husband, Sam of Versailles; nine step-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Joe Henry Taylor and Peggy Bishop and a step-granddaughter, Judy Benningfield June 14, 2000.

Christine Benningfield, daughter of the late Chester Arthur Benningfield and Ivan Martin Benningfield, was born December 25, 1948 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 10:38 P.M., Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in Glasgow. Age: 69
She had worked in the food service industry in several restaurants, Marion Adjustment Center, the Taylor County Jail, and was also the sign language communicator for the deaf at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the Campbellsville Baptist Temple.
She is survived by two sisters: Kay Shipp of Campbellsville and Doris Price of Greensburg; five nephews: Mike Price and wife, Angie and Edward Price and wife, Janice of Greensburg, David Shipp and wife, Janice, Louis Shipp and Larry Bennett of Campbellsville; five great-nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Bennett October 9, 2014.

Lindsey Murray

It is with great sadness that the family of Lindsey Ray Murray announces his passing on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the age of 78 years following injuries sustained from a car accident.

Lindsey was born and raised in Campbellsville and worked at Fruit of the Loom for more than forty years before retiring as supervisor of the bleach house. He was an avid golfer who loved spending time with his family and friends.

He united in marriage to Jewell Yates October 20, 1973.
Besides his wife, Jewell Murray of Georgetown, he is survived by two sons and two daughters: Crystal Ducker and husband, Scott of Georgetown, Ronnie Murray
of Campbellsville, Peggy Murray of Indiana and Michael Murray of Campbellsville; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Murray and Eddie Thomas Rhodes Murray.

Shirley Chelf of Elk Horn, daughter of the late Lloyd Burress and Molly Seaborne Burress, was born April 16, 1935, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 6:23 A.M., Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in Elk Horn. Age: 83
She professed faith in Christ and attended Feathersburg Church of God since it first opened.
Shirley was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
She united in marriage to Richard E. Chelf September 22, 1960.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a friend to all.
Besides her husband, Richard E. Chelf of Elk Horn, she is survived by one son and one daughter: Kenneth Chelf and significant other, Tiffany Cox of Elk Horn and Kathy Evans and husband, Jerry of Mt. Sherman; four grandchildren: Casey Chelf of Knifley, Ashley Chelf Nelson and husband, Joe and Zachary Chelf of Elk Horn and Steven Evans of Mt. Sherman; six great-grandchildren: Anden Jensen, Addison Nelson, Kyler Jensen, Ansley Nelson, Finleigh Chelf and Carson Nelson; one brother and two sisters: Bobby Burress and wife, Dorothy, Christine Wise and Loretta Gaddis of Elk Horn; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Eva Dean Holstin of Greensburg, the daughter of the late John Ed and Mazetta (Lile) Meadows, was born Monday, September 1, 1952 in Green County and departed this life on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in Louisville at the Norton Hospital. She was 66 years and 29 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Sulphur Well. She was a former CNA and a homemaker.
She united in marriage to Ronald “Ronnie” Holstin, who preceded her in death on November 15, 2014.
Survivors include a half-sister: Rose Smith and husband Clifton of Glasgow and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
A graveside service for Eva Dean Holstin will be conducted Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. CST at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Green County with burial to follow.
William L. Trout will be officiating.
Family requests visitation after 12 Noon CST on Tuesday at the Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Mr. James Anthony “Tony” Knott of Campbellsville was born on January 8, 1980 in Louisville. He departed this life on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at his home, being 38 years, 8 months, and 19 days of age. Mr. Knott had battled several health issues most of his life, but he never let them slow his love for his family and friends. He loved spending time with those closest to him, and enjoyed the outdoors whenever possible.
He leaves to mourn his passing:
His fiancée: April O’Neill of Campbellsville,
Five chosen children: Kristopher Releford, Sierra Releford, Jacob Releford, Payton Releford, and Jonathan Releford, all of Campbellsville,
A close cousin: Sarah Knott of Louisville,
A cousin he loved as a niece: Ali Knott, and a host of extended family and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Emily Kathleen Knott, and his grandmother, Francis Louise Cobb Knott.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Knott on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Mr. Knott’s request to be cremated will be accorded him after the service.

Heistand Parrish of Campbellsville, son of the late Hance Parrish and Maggie Pearl Aaron Parrish was born January 23, 1936 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 6:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in Campbellsville. Age: 82
He was a construction worker and heavy equipment operator.
He united in marriage to Vernith Cox Parrish January 11, 1986. She preceded him in death July 22, 2016.
He is survived by two daughters: Tammy Porter and husband, Gary and Melissa Benfield and husband, Don of Hickory, North Carolina; three grandchildren: Candy Anglin and husband, Ashley of Aynor, South Carolina, Chase Porter and wife, Rachel of Louisville and Hannah Grimes of Hickory, North Carolina; two great-grandchildren, Porter Anglin and Aubree Anglin of Aynor, South Carolina; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Thomas Wayne Porter and three brothers and four sisters: Lewis “Sie” Parrish, Otis Parrish, James Parrish, Mary Parrish Keltner, Lou Anna Parrish Cox, Margie Parrish and Leva Parrish Pike.

At Heistand’s request, the body will be cremated.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date.

She was a retired store manager for Willson’s Blue Bunny.
She enjoyed singing at weddings, funerals and other special events. She was also a BPW member.
Marina united in marriage to Paul E. Smith December 8, 1954 and he preceded her in death October 14, 2010.
