Helen Hortense McMahan, age 93, died Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Grandview Nursing and Rehab in Campbellsville, Ky.
Hortense was the daughter of the late Talmage Sherrill and Richard Mitchell, she was also preceded in death by her son Larry McMahan, one brother; Shively R. Mitchell and one sister; Georgia M. Paxton.
Hortense was a member of Campbellsville First Methodist Church, she and her late husband were owners of Cherry Furniture Display. Hortense was a kind and loving woman and friend to many.
She is survived by one sister Louella Ronald Chaney of Greensburg, one brother-in-law; Richard McMahan of Campbellsville, two nieces; Patricia R Davenport of Louisville and Jeannie Ronald Squires of Greensburg, one nephew; Mike Mitchell of Flatwood, KY, Special Friends; Bob and Pam Wilson along with a host of family and friends.
Services for Ms. Hortense McMahan were conducted 2:30 P.M. Monday, December 9, 2013 at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Charles Brockman

Charles Brockman, a retired farmer, of Campbellsville, son of the late Owen Brockman and Cora Holmes Brockman, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, September 15, 1919. He died at 4:55 A.M., Saturday, November 30, 2013 in Campbellsville.                  Age:   94

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Bible Baptist Tabernacle.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II.

He united in marriage to Lucille Franklin April 3, 1945.

Besides his wife, Lucille Brockman, he is survived by one son and one daughter: Charles E. Brockman and Sharon Sue Brockman of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: John Brockman, Robbie Brockman, Jessica Brockman, and Jeremy Brockman of Campbellsville and Denise Brockman of Houston, Texas; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by five sisters and five brothers: Nell Shipp, Betty Lemmon, Arlie Martin, two infant sisters, Ray Brockman, Tommy Brockman,John Brockman, Herbert Brockman, and Abner Brockman.

Janice Rae Gribbin, age 88, died Friday, November 29, 2013 at Cedars of Lebanon in Marion County.
Janice was the daughter of the late Lillian Eva Martin of Enosburg Falls, Va. and Arthur Howard Bocash of Vermont, she was also preceded in death by her husband Thomas Gribbin.
Janice was a member of Tallow Creek Methodist Church, she was a housewife and a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; George Ray and Rosa Gribbin, one daughter; Hettie Aee Jacobs both of Merrimac Rd, Taylor County, one grandson; Jonathan Andrew Jacobs, two nieces, two nephews and a host of family and friends.
Services for Ms. Janice Gribbin were conducted 11:00 AM Monday at the Lyon-
DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in the Tallow Creek Cemetery.

Sherrill Randall Baldwin

Mr. Sherrill Randall Baldwin, age 50, of Mt. Washington, formerly of Campbellsville, passed away on November 28, 2013, at the Taylor Regional Hospital after a brief illness. He was the son of Lula and the late Bradley Ancil Baldwin. He was employed as an assemblyman at the Ford Motor Company in Louisville. Mr. Baldwin was a loving family man and an avid outdoorsman with an ever-ready helping hand. He was a member of the East Campbellsville Church of God.

Mr. Baldwin is survived by:
His mother – Lula Candis (Bolt) Baldwin of Campbellsville
His wife – Tammy (Herron) Baldwin of Mt. Washington
One son – Ryan Baldwin and Lauren Russman of Mt. Washington
One daughter – Magan Baldwin of Mt. Washington
Seven siblings – Ann Nunn and husband Steve, of Greensburg, Jimmy Baldwin and wife Marion, Mike Baldwin and wife Lisa, Jennifer Graham and husband Frankie, Shirley Burress, Denise Graham and husband Marshall, and Judy Sparks and husband Donnie, all of Campbellsville
One granddaughter – Adyson Brooke
His father-in-law and mother-in-law – Jack and Linda Herron of Campbellsville
Two sisters-in-law – Renee Sappenfield and husband Mark, of Mt. Washington, and Stephanie Moss and husband Lee, of Campbellsville
And a host of other uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including Tara Nemeth and fiancee Kenny Holthouser of Mt. Washington.

Visitation for Mr. Sherrill Randall Baldwin will be after 5:00 PM on Saturday, November 30, and after 7:00 AM on Sunday, Dec. 1, at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Campbellsville. The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, Dec. 1, at 2:00 PM at the funeral home, with interment to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Nell Shipp, of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Owen Brockman and Cora Holmes Brockman was born August 27, 1921in Adair County, Kentucky. She died at 6:00 A.M., Thursday, November 28, 2013 in Campbellsville.                 Age: 92

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church.

She was a caregiver and former owner and operator of a Mini Nursing Home.

She united in marriage to Gilbert K. Shipp May 18, 1940. He preceded her in death January 1, 1992.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Beth Sanders and Chris Ferguson of Campbellsville; five great-grandchildren: Aaron Bottoms and wife, Antonia, Jason Sanders and wife, Monica, Dalton Beams, Darlene Ferguson and Naomi Ferguson; three great-grandchildren:  Savannah Sanders, Deven Sanders and Lararus Bottoms; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Lucille Brockman of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by one son and one daughter, Darrell Shipp July 16, 2011 and Darlene Ferguson June 11, 1979 and five brothers and four sisters: Ray Brockman, Tommy Brockman, John Brockman, Betty Lemmon, Arlie Martin, Herbert Brockman, Abner Brockman and two sisters in infancy.

Alice Stiles of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ed Helton and Sadie Roarx Helton, was born February 16, 1927, in Marion County, Kentucky. She died at 11:06 P.M., Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in Campbellsville.   Age:  86

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Green River Memorial Baptist Church.

She united in marriage with William Stiles on November 18, 1946.  He preceded her in death June 15, 1981.

She is survived by three daughters: Patricia Jones and husband Jim, Mary Ann Underwood and Deborah Stiles all of Campbellsville; thirteen grandchildren: Wendy Srenwiaski, Connie Roution, Greg Jones, Brett Underwood, Deanna Dick, Mandy Underwood Atkins, Sonja Stiles, Annemarie Ponce, Jamaal Stiles, Eric Jones, Kimberly Breeding, B.J. Breeding and Ashley Stiles; fourteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by three sons and one daughter: Norman Stiles, James Stiles, Joe Stiles, and Brenda Breeding. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Aileen Bernice Salsman of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Lee Wade Sullivan and Ruth Curtis Collins Sullivan, was born June 11, 1931, at Crooked Sourwood in Taylor County, Kentucky. She departed this life at 12:10 P.M., Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at her home.   Age:  82

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Washington Baptist Church in Marion County.

She united in marriage with James T. Salsman on May 16, 1953.  He preceded her in death February 24, 2003. To this union was born two daughters, Davina Cheryl Salsman and Carolyn Bernice Salsman.  

She is survived by her daughters:  Davina Gupton and husband, Bro. Brent of Campbellsville and Carolyn Antle and husband, Kevin of Russell Springs; five grandchildren: Lee Gupton and wife, Laura, of Cincinnati, Joseph Gupton and wife, Carrie, of Radcliff, Lisa Willis and husband Chris, amd Kayla Antle and Christy Antle of Russell Springs; two great-grandchildren: Morgan Gupton and Evan Gupton of Cincinnati; two more great-grandchildren on the way and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Freda Evelyn Sullivan in infancy.

Mr. Charles David Kirtley of Campbellsville went to rest with the Lord on November 22, 2013, at the age of 40 years and 13 days. Mr. Kirtley worked as an inspector at TG Kentucky in Lebanon. He was a loving dad with a compassionate soul toward all. He had professed faith in Christ, and was a member of the Green River Memorial Baptist Church in Campbellsville.

One daughter – Sharon Lynn Kirtley of Campbellsville,
His parents – Richard “Dickie” and Mary Lynn (Rucker) Kirtley of Campbellsville,

D. C. Phillips of Campbellsville, son of the late Elmer Phillips and Estella Willis Phillips, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, March 26, 1932.   He died at 3:37 A.M., Thursday, November 21, 2013, in Campbellsville.     Age:   81

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He was retired from general contractor.

He united in marriage to Shirley Franklin November 7, 1954.  She preceded him in death February 16, 2003.

He is survived by two sons and three daughters:  Kimberly Ann Phillips, Tonia Lea Skaggs and husband, Kent and David K. Phillips of Campbellsville, Stephen A. Phillips and wife, Judy of

Grand Island, Nebraska and Lisa Jean Cox of Bowling Green; seven grandchildren:  Jessica Phillips, Corey Watson, Kenzie Watson, Erin Cox, Emma Cox, Jordan Phillips and Noah Skaggs; two great-grandchildren:  Sophia Glapion and Kellan Glapion; one sister, Audrey Cash of New Orleans, Louisiana; one sister-in-law, Carrie Mae Phillips of Campbellsville;
