HALLIE COX

Hallie Cox of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Robert Perkins and Zella Bottoms Perkins, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, July 11, 1926.  She died at 3:45 P.M., Saturday, June 30, 2012, in Greensburg.      Age:  85

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the St. Andrew United Methodist Church.

She united in marriage to Andy Cox, July 17, 1944. He preceded her in death April 26, 2000.

She is survived by one daughter and one son, Charlotte Davis and husband, Lonnie and Terry A. Cox of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Todd Cox of Brooks, KY and Rhonda Beard and husband, Mike, Joseph Davis and wife, Cheryl, and Amy Southern and husband, Mark of Campbellsville; four great-grandchildren: Seirra Scott, Jordan Southern, Caleb Southern, and Kyndal Southern; two step-great-grandsons: Tyler Cruse and Jacob Cruse; one step-great-great-granddaughter, Jaylee Cruse; two brothers: Frank Perkins and Jerry Perkins of Louisville; several other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Lindsey Perkins and Lorine Cox.

Christine Meader of Campbellsville, daughter of the late E. L. Daugherty and Mary Etwol Lemmon Daugherty, was born in Casey County, Kentucky, February 12, 1919.  She died at 8:55 A.M., Friday, June 29, 2012, in Campbellsville. Age:  93

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

She united in marriage to W. I. Meader April 15, 1947.   He preceded her in death September 24, 1975.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Edith Bland of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: David Bland of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Christy Shuffett and husband, Scott of Georgetown and Laura Jo Minor and husband, Michael of Coppell, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Katie Grace Shuffett of Georgetown; one brother, Bert Daugherty and wife, Sylvia of  Lewisville, North Carolina; several other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by one son, W. I. “Bill” Meader November 25, 1967 and a brother James H. Daugherty June 6, 2010

Wilma Stapleton, age 60, of Speck Ridge Road, died Tuesday at the Taylor Regional Hospital after a long illness.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Stapleton, one son and three step-sons, Jodie Stapleton, Jerry Wayne Stapleton, Bradley Stapleton, and Randal Lee Stapleton all of Campbellsville. Several step-grandchildren also survive along with two brothers Harvey and Simon Woodall and one sister Elizabeth Sizemore all of Indiana.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wilma Stapleton will be held at 10 AM Friday at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in the Callahan Cemetery.
The family request visitation from 5 to 8 PM Thursday at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the funeral expenses.

Donna Collins of Campbellsville, daughter of Mildred Bricken Thompson and the late Charles L. Thompson, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, December 28, 1959.  She died at 7:51 A.M., Sunday, June 24, 2012, in Louisville.    Age: 52

She professed faith in Christ and attended Robinson Creek Baptist Church.

She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and Clarcor in Campbellsville.

She united in marriage to Larry Collins May 17, 2004.

Besides her husband, Larry Collins, she is survived by two daughters:  Denise Mickey and husband, Matthew of Clarksville, Tennessee and Diane Phillips and husband, Eric of Campbellsville; one step-son, Patrick Collins and wife, Karianne of Glasgow; three granddaughters: Kaitlyn Phillips and Chloe Phillips of Campbellsville and Lily Mickey of Clarksville, Tennessee; one step-grandson, Trey Collins of Glasgow; her mother, Mildred Thompson of Campbellsville; one brother and two sisters:  Doug Thompson and wife, Annette and Marcia Milby and husband, Gary of Campbellsville and Janet Eastridge and husband, Greg of Ashland; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. She united in marriage to Eddie B. Childers February 14, 1942. He preceded her in death October 31, 2011. She is survived by one daughter, Elaine Childers of Campbellsville; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Childers of Campbellsville; one grandson, Darren Childers and special friend, Chandra Vitale of Atlanta; two half-brothers, Tommy  Herron and Robert Herron of Dayton, Ohio; a special friend, Betty Holt of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends. Ethel June Warren Sluder, daughter of the late Miller Wilson, Sr. and Josie Graham Wilson was born November 6, 1930 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She died at 11:40 A.M., Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Elizabethtown.      Age:  81 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Church of the Nazarene. She and her husband, W. C. Warren, owned and operated Warren’s Quick Shop for some forty-three years. She united in marriage to W. C. Warren on July 17, 1948. He preceded her in death October 4, 2000. Besides her husband Willie “Bill” Sluder, she is survived by one son and one daughter: Mark W. Warren and wife, Rebecca, and Nona Parrish of Campbellsville; one daughter-in-law, Betsy Warren of Campbellsville:  seven grandchildren: Chris Parrish and wife, Regina, Leanne Parrish, Jacob Warren, and Cheyenne Warren of Campbellsville, Willie Warren of California, Travis Warren and wife, Donna of Glasgow and Stacy Wright and wife, Amy of Summersville;  several great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Doris Jean Wilson of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons: Charles David Warren February 7, 1993 and Marvin Lee Warren December 12, 2009; one son-in-law, Bobby “Pete” Parrish February 2, 2012; one grandson, Laramie Marvin Warren December 26, 1989; and one brother, Miller “Sonny” Wilson, Jr. February 26, 2003.

Harry Newcomb of La Grange, formerly of Campbellsville, son of the late Isaac Tate Newcomb and Susie Richerson Newcomb, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, July 18, 1941.  He died at 6:00 A.M., Friday, June 22, 2012, in Louisville.    Age: 70

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.

He was part owner and salesman with Newcomb Buick, Pontiac, GMC and a retired insurance agent with All State Insurance Company.

He was a member of Kentucky National Guard.

He united in marriage to Lynette Long May 8, 1975.

Besides his wife, Lynette Newcomb, he is survived by one daughter, Angela Lynn Newcomb of La Grange; one brother and one sister:  Larry Newcomb and wife, Sharon and Barbara Moore of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Noel Newcomb August 9, 2000.

Bernadine Hoosier of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Elmer Hoosier, Sr. and Haline Wethington Hoosier, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, January 18, 1953.  She died at 7:40 P.M., Wednesday, June 20, 2012, in Campbellsville.    Age:  59

She professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by two sisters:  Phyllis Hoosier and Annetta Marcum and husband, Mike of Campbellsville; three nieces and one nephew:  Lori Gutierrez and special friend, Ron Sallee and Sherri Benningfield of Campbellsville, Jeannie Tungate and husband, Stan of Lexington and Tim Marcum of Louisville; eight great-nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers:  Elmer “Buddy” Hoosier, Jr. June 29, 2010 and Eugene Hoosier January 22, 2002 and one great-nephew, Zachary Harris.

          John Benningfield, age 86, died Tuesday June 19, 2012 at Medco Nursing Facility in Taylor County.

          He was survived by his sister Ms. Hazel Benningfield Livers and Lennie Pike both of Campbellsville, three nephews Doulgas and Tony Livers of Louisville, and Roger Pike of Campbellsville, along with many friends and love ones.

          Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 22, 2012 at 10 AM at Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

          Ethel Mae Ford age 94, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, died Monday June 18, 2012 at Grandview Nursing and Rehab Facility in Taylor County.

          Mrs. Ford was the daughter of the late Sallie Mae Smith and Carl Rucker.  She was preceded in death by her husband Ira Ford, along with two sons John Douglas and Eddie Lee Ford, one grandson Brandon Ford, one brother Jessie Rucker, and two sisters Mabel Sanders and Rachel Warren.

          Ethel Ford was a loving mother and friend to many, she was a good Christian woman and member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.

          She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Daryl and Betty Ford, one Daughter and son-in-law Ruthie and Garnett Mardis all of Campbellsville. She is also survived by three grand children, Chad and DeAnna Mardis, Tabatha and Joe Burbidge, LaSheal and Rodney McDaniel and eight great grand children.  One sister Lucille Shives of Green County.

          Funeral services for Ethel Ford were conducted at 11AM Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Brookside Cemetery.
