Ola Bright of Elk Horn, daughter of the late Otis Bright and Lois Colvin Bright, was born March 9, 1921 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 8:00 P.M., Thursday, August 2, 2012 in Greensburg. Age: 91 She professed faith in Christ was a member of Elk Horn United Methodist Church. She is survived by one niece, Marie White of Elk Horn and many other relatives and friends.

Donna Fern Marples of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Earl “Buddy” Tungate and Fern Cox Tungate, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, January 15, 1963.   She died at 3:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 31, 2012, in Campbellsville.    Age:  49

She was an employee of Safeguard in Lancaster.

She is survived by one son, Cyrus Delbert Todd Marples of Campbellsville; five grandchildren:  Jacob Todd Marples, Cyrus Blake Marples, Jonathan Delbert Marples and Annabelle Flame Marples of Lebanon and Siren Fire of Campbellsville; two sisters and two brothers:  Rhoda Followell and husband, Billy, Bucky Tungate and wife, Nancy and Boddy Lawson and special friend, Pam Colvin of Campbellsville and Bonnie Jean Collins and special friend, Mark Peddy of Russell Springs; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister:  Danny Ray Tungate and Betty Tungate.

Wanda Walters of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Bennie Thompson and Bonnie Eastridge Thompson was born April 21, 1936 in Taylor County, Kentucky.

She died at 2:15 P.M., Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in Campbellsville.          Age: 76

She professed faith in Christ was a member of Early’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

She retired from Citizens Bank and Trust Company after some forty years of service.

She united in marriage to Horace Walters February 12, 1960. He preceded her in death January 8, 1970.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Dianna and Matthew Hayden of Louisville; three grandchildren: Samantha Hayden, Myra Hayden and Andrew Hayden of Louisville; one brother and his wife, Randall and JoAnn Thompson of Hemet, California; three sisters-in-law: Lois Thompson, Pauline Williams and Frances Curry of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Doyle Thompson.

Charles McCarty of Campbellsville, son of the late John Gordon McCarty and Ada Dell Golden McCarty, was born in Nicholas County, Kentucky, July 10, 1937.  He died at 6:19 A.M., Monday, July 30, 2012, in Campbellsville.    Age:  75

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Lowell Avenue Baptist Church.

He was owner and operator of Druther’s Restaurant in Campbellsville.

He united in marriage to Joanna Chaney May 7, 1957.

Besides his wife, Joanna McCarty, he is survived by two sons and one daughter:  Rick L. McCarty and wife, Jen of Winchester, Tennessee, Kathy Clark and husband, Greg and Steve McCarty and wife, Roxann of Campbellsville; six grandchildren:  Rick L. McCarty, Jr. and wife, Rayna, Beth Clark and husband,  Brandon Milby, Jonathan McCarty, Stephanie McCarty, Makenzie McCarty and Sean McCarty; two great-grandchildren:  Mya McCarty and Myles McCarty; two sisters:  Dollie Lyons of Carlisle and Mary Peratt of Flemingsburg; one sister-in-law, Jewell McCarty of Carlisle; special family member, Debbie Bennett of Memphis, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

          Marion R Davenport age 84, Campbellsville, died 8:00 A.M. Monday at his residence in Taylor County.

          He was the son of the late Annie Lucille Dickerson and Richard Earl Davenport.  Marion Davenport was preceded in dead by his wife Mabel Frances (Johnson) Davenport and one daughter Debra Jean Davenport.

          Mr. Davenport was a member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church and long time Businessman in the Campbellsville-Taylor County area, highly respected and caring husband, father and friend.

          He is survived by one son Tommy Davenport and wife Barbara, three daughters Linda Banks and husband Lenny, Marie Wright and husband Mike all of Campbellsville, and Brenda Via and husband Dean of Charlotte, N.C..  Eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First United Methodist Church.

She was a retired librarian with the Taylor County Public Library.

She united in marriage to Burr Gilpin February 24, 1947.  He preceded her in death March 7, 1967.

She is survived by two daughters:  Mary Harrison Gilpin Eaves and husband, James of Louisville and Gayle Gilpin Rogers and husband, Dr. Ronald Rogers of Columbia; two grandsons, Dr. Adam Patteson Rogers and wife, Lauren G. and Matthew Harrison Rogers and wife, Leslie of Bowling Green; one great-grandson, Bryant Harrison Rogers of Bowling Green; several other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Opal Whitney Boehme in December, 2010.

Merlin Boyd Harrison of Campbellsville, son of the late Lelan Harrison and Lizzie Ermine Vaughn Harrison was born in Taylor County, Kentucky on March 19, 1926. He died at 9:55 P.M., Wednesday, July 25, 2012 in Campbellsville. Age: 86 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army achieving the rank of corporal. He was a retired employee of Tennessee Gas Transmission. He united in marriage to Lola Mae Beard February 5, 1949. She preceded him in death April 19, 1987. He was a loving and devoted husband, wonderful father and a good friend. He is survived by one son and two daughters: Danny Harrison and wife, Elaine of Louisville and Carolyn Walters and husband, Robert, and Judy Harrison of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Robin Michelle Walters of Campbellsville and Danny Boyd Harrison Jr. and wife Ammy of Shelbyville; one great-granddaughter, Meredith Ava Harrison; one brother, Richard Morrison Harrison and wife, Myra of Cincinnati,  Ohio; a special niece, Tammie Baumgardner of Campbellsville;  several other nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Clayton Sullivan of Campbellsville, son of the late George and Cora Burress Reynolds, was born in Marion County, Kentucky, February 22, 1928.  After the death of his mother in 1929, he was adopted by John William and Lillie Burress Sullivan.  He died at 6:45 A.M., Tuesday, July 24, 2012, in Lebanon.    Age:  84

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Washington Baptist Church where he was a deacon for sixty-two years.

He was a lifelong farmer.

He united in marriage to Kathryn Hunt December 21, 1946.
