Philip “Phil” Callison, age 69

Philip “Phil” Callison, age 69, of Campbellsville passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Taylor Regional Hospital.

He was former co-owner of Callison’s Dairy Queen where he worked many years prior to his retirement.  He was a member of Woodlawn Christian Church as well as having been a member of the National Guard, Cook Mountain Hunt Club, and Portland Hunt Club.   Mr. Callison was an outdoorsman and could often be found enjoying his hobby of hunting.

Philip Callison was born in Adair County, Kentucky to the late, Eugene Paul and Frances Cheatham Callison.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Phillip P. Callison.

He is survived by his wife, Polly Ann Price Callison; a daughter, Laura Callison Watson and her husband, Greg of Campbellsville; and a son, Ryan Callison and his wife, Amara of Elizabethtown.   Also surviving are his grandchildren, Katelyn McMahan, Chelsie Edwards, Sidney Edwards, Corey Watson, Caroline McMahan, Summer Edwards, CheyAnn Edwards and Piper Callison.   One Great grandchild survives, Hunter Phillip Calum Webb as well as a brother, Bobby Callison and his wife Luci and a daughter-in-law, Cathy McMahan and her husband Ron.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 25th at Woodlawn Christian Church with Bro. Fella Wilson officiating.  Interment will follow at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

The family request visitation from 11 a.m. until time for the service at Woodlawn Christian Church on Monday, July 25th.

Memorial contributions are suggested to go to Woodlawn Christian Church or the Family Memorial Fund which can be made at the church or Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Velma Abell Tungate of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Lonzie Abell and Estella Ferrill Abell, was born October 6, 1923, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 12:50 A.M., Thursday, July 21, 2016 in Campbellsville. Age: 92
She professed faith in Christ and attended the Feathersburg Church of God.
She united in marriage to Jesse Earl Tungate January 3, 1940. He preceded her in death December 24, 2007.
She is survived by three daughters: Carole Ann Perkins and husband, Bro. Carol Perkins of Campbellsville, Norma Woods and husband, Edgar of Green Castle, Indiana and Wanda Wright of Mt. Washington; one son-in-law, Ray Parker, Sr. of Columbia; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Parker; one son-in-law, Jimmy Wright; one grandson, Raymond Glenn Parker Jr.; one great grandchild; one great-great grandchild; two brothers and two sisters: Wesley Abell, Willard Abell, Kathleen Tungate and Wilma Ashoff.

Mildred Imogene Johnson, 87

Johnson Mrs. Mildred Imogene (Bias) Johnson of Campbellsville was born on Saturday, September 8, 1928 to the late Chauncey and Essie Opal (Webb) Bias. She went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 18, 2016 at her home after an extended illness. She was 87 years, 10 months, and 10 days of age. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Bible Baptist Tabernacle. Mrs. Johnson’s kind and helpful spirit led her to become a home health care attendant after retiring from the Fruit of the Loom factory in Campbellsville. Mrs. Johnson was the wife of Percy John, Jr., who preceded her in death in 1999. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

Four children: Sandra K. Boyd and husband Mike of Campbellsville, Terry G Johnson and wife Debra of South Carolina, Ginger R. Johnson of Campbellsville, and Percy Johnson III of West Virginia,

One daughter-in-law: Patsy Johnson of West Virginia,

Five grandchildren: DeShawna Boden, Amanda Despain, Joshua Despain, Terry Johnson, Jr., and Michael Johnson, Jr.,

Six great-grandchildren,

And a host of other family and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Michael Dale Johnson, two sisters, and one brother.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Johnson on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718. Bro. Bob Cutler will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3878 Greensburg Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 21, after 10:00 AM until time for the service.
