Benny Joe Humphress, age 73, died peacefully on May 20, 2023 at VA Hospital in Lexington surrounded by those he loved. He was born in Campbellsville on May 31, 1949 to the late Joe and Christine Hoosier Humphress.
He was a Vietnam Veteran serving proudly in the U.S. Navy. He went on after his time in the service to retire from Fruit of the Loom shipping department in Campbellsville. He later went on to serve as a sergeant at Kentucky State Reformatory in La Grange where he retired as well. He was a member and deacon at Robinson Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include the love of his life of 55 years, Phyllis St.Clair Humphress; two daughters, Melinda (Marty) Miller of Killen, AL and Kristen Bartley (Josh Kelley) of Lebanon, KY; three grandsons, Ben Miller of Killen, AL and Jonathan and Brayden Bartley, both of Lebanon, KY; 2 siblings, Sue (Gordon) Perkins and Michael (Linda) Humphress, all of Campbellsville, KY; his fur baby Maggie and several nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
Benny believed we preach our own funeral in how we live our life. Visitation only will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 4-7 pm at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. His wish was to be buried with his wife at the time of her passing. Expressions of sympathy can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Taylor County Animal Shelter.

Houston Jenkins, age 90, departed this life on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 in Jamestown. Houston was a former resident of Adair County and lived for several years in Campbellsville.
Houston was an original member of the Melody Aires Quartet singing the bass part. He and Melody Aires sang Gospel music for many years in churches throughout Kentucky and surrounding states. He loved his family, church family, and friends. Houston loved to fish and hunt, and was a devoted University of Kentucky Wildcat basketball fan.
Houston was a professed Christian. He loved the Lord and was a member of Campbellsville First Church of God.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Ruth Ann Stayton Jenkins, in May of 2014. Houston was also preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Susan Anna Jeffries Jenkins of Metcalfe County, and a sister, Elgia Jenkins, also of Metcalfe County.
He is survived by three children: Steve and Tammy Jenkins of Somerset, Kevin and Shelly Jenkins of Columbia, and Margo and Gary Pennington of North Carolina. He is also survived by three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Houston leaves behind his very special sisters-in-law and their families, who loved him like a brother: Tretha Dugger, Donna Estes and husband Bobby, and Linda Owens, all of Campbellsville.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM EDT (1:00 PM CDT) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Colin McDaniel, and Bro. Evan Tedder will officiate. Burial will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 PM EDT (4:00-8:00 PM CDT) on Saturday, and again on Sunday after 11:00 AM EDT (10:00 AM CDT) until time for the funeral.
Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Lake Cumberland or Gideon Bible Donations, both can be made at the funeral home.

Agnes Warren of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Alfred Beckham Underwood and Nancy Catherine Caulk Underwood, was born October 23, 1940 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 10:50 P.M., Tuesday, May 16, 2023 in Hodgenville. Age: 82
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Poplar Grove Methodist Church.
Agnes was a Certified Nurse Assistant and a housewife who loved taking care of her family.
She united in marriage to Gilbert Warren December 25, 1959 and he preceded her in death February 22, 2023.
She is survived by three daughters and one son: Sheila Massengale of Pine Knott, Lisa Stillwell, Nancy Mings and husband, Tony of Campbellsville and Mike Warren and wife, Lou Ann of Columbia; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-laws: Bernice Stillwell of Hodgenville, Mary Warren of Summersville and Agnes Gunter and husband, Rollin of Franklin, Indiana; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Agnes was also preceded in death by one sister, Opal Oaks, one brother, Ingram Underwood and a brother in infancy
