HELEN VINA SALLEE COX OBITUARY

Helen Vina Sallee Cox, 87, of Bradfordsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Otha Sallee and Mary Garrett Sallee, was born March 19th, 1935, in Marion County and departed this life on Thursday, December 22nd, 2022, at Jewish Hospital-U of L Health in Louisville, Kentucky.

Helen professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Campbellsville.  She loved to dance and working with her flowers.  She was a former employee of JCPenney’s in Campbellsville.

She united in marriage to Curtis Cox, Sr., and he preceded her in death in 1996.

Survived by:

One son:  Ricky Cox and significant other, Judy Simpson, of Mannsville.

One daughter:  Sandra Thompson and her husband, Charles, of Louisville.

Twelve grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

One brother:  Buford Sallee and his wife, Jean.

One sister:  Carlida Callison her husband, Richard.

Besides her parents and husband, Helen is preceded in death by:

Two sons: Steve W. Cox and Curtis Cox, Jr.

One daughter:  Violet Denise Bagby.

Two brothers:  Otha Ruble (Buddy) Sallee and Jerry Sallee.

Three sisters:  Ola Gunter, Sue Gunter, and Dorothy Tungate.

VISITATION:  Wednesday, December 28th, 2022, from 6pm-8pm EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.

FUNERAL:  Thursday, December 29th, 2022, at 11am EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.

Burial will follow in Tallow Creek Cemetery.

BURDIS R. (MCDONALD) BURRESS OBITUARY

Burdis R. McDonald Burress, 95, of Elkhorn, Kentucky, daughter of the late Granville and Ophilla Tungate McDonald was born June 19, 1927, in Taylor County and departed this life on Friday, December 23, 2022, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

She professed her faith in Christ and attended Feathersburg First Church of God.  She loved gardening, flowers, and being outside.  Burdis love eating corn curls and chewing her Tennessee Pride tobacco.

Mrs. Burress united in marriage to Lester Wallace Burress, and he preceded her in death on November 15, 2017.

She is survived:

Four children: Jerry Burress and wife, Edith; Freddy Burress and wife, Patty; Henry Burress; and Inetta Childress and husband, Larry, all of Elkhorn.

Three brothers: BuelDean McDonald and his wife Edith; David McDonald and his wife, Frances: and George Richard McDonald and his wife, Diane.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons: Roger Burress and Steve Burress.

Four brothers and two sisters:  Vonald McDonald, Nicholas McDonald, Merline McDonald, Gracie Brown, Phillip McDonald, and Joseph McDonald.

VISITATION: Wednesday, December 28th, 2022, from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.

FUNERAL:  Wednesday, December 28th, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.

Ronald Warren Hixon

Mr. Ronald Warren Hixson passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, December 25, 2022 in Campbellsville at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Casey County, KY to the late Roy and Minnie Hixon on April 19, 1931, he was 91 years of age at the time of his death. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Christian faith. Mr. Hixon was retired from the Carnation Milk Company. He loved woodworking, building furniture, spending time with family and made frequent trips to Wal-Mart. He leaves to cherish his memory:
His wife: Ruby Graybeal Hixon
One daughter: Brenda Underwood and husband Michael T. of Elk Horn, KY
One brother: Byron Hixon of Knifley, Three sisters: Wilma Johnson, Una Cravens and Vera Davenport.
Two grandchildren: Stephanie Conn and husband Joey of Columbia, KY, Cathy Murray and husband Shawn of Greensburg, KY.
Four great-grandchildren: Dylan Conn, Dawson Conn, Dax Conn, and Casen Murray.
Special friends: Kathy and Larry Strange, Jimmy and Marilyn Gardner, Jewell Corbin and George Campbell.
And a host of other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by one great grandson: Joseph Dane Conn.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Ronald Warren Hixon on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville, KY with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM until time for the service.
