Johnnie Pennington

Johnnie Pennington of Mannsville, son of the late Vance Pennington and Helen Belton Pennington, was born April 7, 1938 in Casey County, Kentucky. He died at 9:15 A.M., Tuesday, August 6, 2019 in Campbellsville. Age: 81
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mannsville Christian Church.
Johnnie retired his comb and shears after over sixty years of telling stories and sharing laughs with all who sat in his chair. For more than fifty years, if you couldn’t find him in the barbershop, he could be found selling cars from his lot. Johnnie served on the school board for twenty-one years and was also a member of the Elkhorn Masonic Lodge #568 F&AM. His smile and wave will always be remembered in the Mannsville Community and his good natured personality will be missed.
He united in marriage to Dorothy Larimore in 1963.
Besides his wife, Dorothy Pennington of Campbellsville, he is survived by three sons and one daughter: Barry Pennington and wife, Rhonda, Terry Pennington, Brad Pennington and Bridgett Rodgers and husband, Ricky of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Olivia Feltner and husband, Matt, Gabby Benningfield and husband, Clay, Braxton Pennington and Joey Benham; one step grandson, Clint Rodgers and wife, Elizabeth; six great-grandchildren: Lenox Feltner, Ledger Feltner, Penny Benningfield, Ellie Benningfield, Amaurie Benham and Ivory Benham; three step great-grandchildren: Cailie Rodgers, Edward Rodgers and Grant Rodgers; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Myra Roberts March 19, 2001 and Margaret Gabehart September 10, 2008 and a step-grandson, Christopher Robin “Buzz” Rodgers August 30, 2018.

Terry Lynn Peters, 60

Terry Lynn Peters, the son of the late Sheridan and Josephine (Wright) Peters, was born Wednesday, July 1, 1959 in Taylor County and departed this life on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 in Louisville at the Kindred Hospital. He was 60 years, 1 month and 6 days of age.

He was a former apartment complex maintenance worker and attended the Saloma Baptist Church with his step-mom Frances.

He enjoyed trap shooting and hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his step-mom: Frances Peters of Campbellsville; a sister: Lisa Peters of Louisville; his step-brother: Greg Wise and wife Susan of Campbellsville and a cousin: Debbie Stiles of Campbellsville and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service for Terry Lynn Peters will be Friday, August 8, 2019 at the Brookside Cemetery in Campbellsville with burial to follow.

Bro. John Chowning will be officiating.

Family requests visitation after 12:00 P.M. on Friday at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville.

Robert Eldred “Bob” Ware

Robert Eldred “Bob” Ware of Campbellsville, son of the late Delbert Dee Ware and Hattie Eldred Ware was born February 13, 1928 in Mason, Michigan. He died at 9:44 P.M., Friday, August 2, 2019 at his home. Age: 91
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mason First Presbyterian Church and attended Asbury United Methodist Church in Campbellsville.
He was a retired pharmacist having owned and operated the family pharmacy in Mason, Michigan.
Bob’s family and community were very important to him; he had served many years on the local school and bank boards. He loved nature and the outdoors and photographed many wildflowers on his travels in the Smoky Mountains and many other locations. Bob also loved hiking, golfing; playing Bridge and meeting new people.
He united in marriage to Erma Mae Roose June 10, 1950. She preceded him in death October 24, 2004. He later married Vera Nealy Bower June 9, 2007.
Besides his wife, Vera Ware he is survived by one daughter and two sons: Julie Ware Brower and husband, Ross Brower of East Lansing, Michigan, Dan Ware and wife, Sue Polock Ware and Steve Ware and wife, Carolee Beckman Ware of Mason, Michigan; one step-daughter, Leslie Corbin of Campbellsville; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; special caregivers, Angie Pedigo and Betty Purracchio; and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Ed Ware and Harold Ware.
