Danny Thomas Rainwater

Danny Thomas Rainwater of Campbellsville, the son of the late Haskel Rainwater and Dorothy Hoots Rainwater, was born March 29, 1954, in Campbellsville and departed this life on June 4, 2025, in Campbellsville. He was 71 years of age.

He professed faith in Christ and attended the Calvary Baptist Church. He had retired from the News Enterprise and worked in several pawn shops. He enjoyed motorcycles, trading knives and guns, all kinds of sports, UK, and go-carts. He was a veteran and served his country honorably in the United States Army and served in Desert Storm.

He is survived by his loving wife Rosemary England Rainwater of Campbellsville and four children: Shawn Thomas Rainwater (Andrea), Crystal Jewell Waters (Christopher), Amanda Rainwater McNiell (Les), and Daniel Cordell Rainwater, all of Campbellsville. Thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is one brother, Lewis Rainwater (Anita) of Campbellsville, four sisters-in-law: Judy Gwinn, Patty Cissell, Emma Lewis, and Cathy Benedict, and one brother-in-law, Thomas Parker.

The funeral service for Danny Thomas Rainwater will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, June 9, 2025, at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens with full military honors.

Bro. Larry Rhodes and Bro. Steve Orr will officiate.

The family has requested visitation on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 5-8 P.M. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home.

Memorial donations are suggested to be made to the Taylor Regional Cancer Center.

Patricia Wethington

Patricia Wethington

Patricia Sue Wethington of Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday, June 4th, 2025 at the Glasgow Hospital.  Patricia was born December 23, 1938, the youngest of four children born to Mary Gladys Russell and Charles Lee Fisher.  A few years later the family moved to Plattsburg, MO.  Patricia was proceeded in death by her parents, husband James Harold, daughter Alice May who passed away as an infant in 1960, grandchildren Chase and McKenna Wethington-Padgett in 2011, three sisters Juanita Gilmore, Corrine Selvy, and Charlene Wayman.  Patricia attended many years in grade school and high school there.  In 1953 Patricia went to John Brown Military Academy in Siloam Springs, AR.  She graduated from Mercy Academy in Marshall, Missouri, in 1956.  

In 1959 Patricia married James Harold “Jim Duck” Wethington, son of Alphonus and Ann Wethington from Clementsville, KY.  James was a member of the United States Air Force at Forbes AFB in Topeka, KS.

Patricia graduated in 1980 from the Danville School of Nursing as a LPN.  She worked many years at the Hospital in Liberty, KY and at Metzmeier Nursing home in Campbellsville, KY.

She was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Clementsville, KY and Good Shepherd Catholic Church at Columbia, KY.

In 1991 after the death of her husband she moved to Columbia, KY.  She then began caring for Tommie Ray Burton in her home.  He was a great friend and companion till his death on April 14, 2004.

Patricia is survived by six children, Jimmy (Paula), Mary (Joe), Tom (Christie), John (Shelia), Anna Marie and son Connor, Peggy (Jason) and Daughter in Law Erlinda.  She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, many nephews, nieces, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

In addition, she was a long-time member of Al-Anon Serenity Seekers Groups in Russell Springs, KY and Columbia, KY.  She leaves behind many lovely members of her Al-Anon family down through the years.  Patricia loved many and was loved by many in return.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. (10 A.M. CST) at the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Clementsville with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family requests visitation from 5-8 P.M. Monday (4-7 P.M. CST) on Monday at the

L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville.

Prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Mildred Cook

Mildred Cook, 89, of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Clem Preston Stamp and Eva Mable Abel was born August 29th, 1935 in Bradfordsville. She departed this life on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025, at her home in Campbellsville.

Mildred retired from Walmart after many years of service. She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved doing home renovation projects.

Mildred is survived by:
Three daughters: Barbara Hudson of Campbellsville; Becky Smock of Campbellsville; and Belinda Pennington of Texas
Eight grandchildren
Nine great-grandchildren
One sister, Holly Bryant of Liberty
Several nieces and nephews
A host of other family and friends

Mildred was preceded in death by:
Two sons and one daughter: Billy Cook in 2023, Bobby Cook in 1986 and Beverly Fishbach in 2025
Two sisters and one brother: Maydra Weaver, Kathryn Schwindt, and Preston Stamp

SERVICES: To honor Ms. Cook’s wishes, cremation was chosen. There will be no public services at this time. Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville is in charge of arrangements.
