Louis H. Shipp of Campbellsville, son of the late Odgen Shipp and Ruby L. Young Carter, was born May 4, 1930, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 12:02 P.M., Friday, June 23, 2017, in Campbellsville. Age: 87
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He was a veteran of Korean Conflict having served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Ribbon with Four Stars.
Louis retired from TGT after more than thirty-seven years’ service.
He was a member of the Pitman Mason Lodge #124 F & AM.
He united in marriage to Peggy Noel and she preceded him in death November 18, 2001.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jim Bailey of Lexington; one grandson, Dusty Bailey and wife, Melissa of Lexington; two great-grandchildren: Emerson Bailey and Riley Bailey of Lexington; one sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Dr. Harold Wilkerson of Campbellsville; two aunts: Virginia Smith of Campbellsville and Jean Dyer of Florida; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmie Shipp May 5, 1965.

William “Bill” Milby, 75

William “Bill” Edward Milby, 75, passed away June 22, 2017 at his home in Louisville.
Bill served in the US Army and a veteran of the Viet Nam War, a Mason of Highland Park Lodge #865, a rep for UAW Union #862 at Ford Motor Co (KTP), and an avid U of L fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lottie Milby and his sister, DeLora Jean Skaggs.
Bill is survived by his wife, Norma Jean of Louisville.
Hhis children, Bill Milby, Sherry Milby, Vickie Firkins, Joey Saho (Kathy), Tamera Hill, David Hill (Debra), Jeff Hill (Christa) and Chris Hill.
His siblings, Donnie Milby (Linda) of Campbellsville, Janice Wooldridge of Louisville, Linda “Cissy” Vibert (Ronnie) of Louisville and Debbie Zgliczynski (Conrad) pf Texas and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren that kept him young at heart.
A special appreciation to Hosparus, Tammy Thompson, Dave Miller and Salina Rosalez, for the love and care provided to Bill.
Visitation is Sunday, June 25, 2017, from 3pm to 8pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 26, 2017, at 12pm followed by entombment at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Harvey Junior Gilbert, 49

Mr. Harvey Junior “Yogie” Gilbert of Campbellsville passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at his home. Born on January 11, 1968 to the late Harvey Twillard and Elizabeth Mary (Wise) Gilbert, he was 49 years, 5 months, and 7 days of age. Mr. Gilbert was a family man; his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He professed faith in Christ and attended New Journey Church in Campbellsville. Mr. Gilbert tried to lead a life of example; not only did he believe in God, he loved talking to anyone about Him. He was an outdoorsman as well, and took pleasure in manual labor.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

His wife: Frances (Edwards) Gilbert of Campbellsville,

Three children: Mary “Nikki” Graeter and husband Brent, Rashelle “Pebbles” Mortis and husband Bryant, and Charles Bruce Lee Gilbert, all of Evansville, Indiana,

Five brothers: Charles Gilbert and wife Carol of Tennessee, and Danny Dale Gilbert and wife Sondra, Randall Gilbert and wife Liz, Eddie Gilbert, George Gilbert and wife Janie, all of Campbellsville,

Four sisters-in-law: Desirae Wheeler and husband Kelly, Lexi Wheeler, Casey Vogt, and Amber Edwards,

Seven grandchildren: Isiah Mortis, Elizabeth Hester, Christian Kisner Gilbert, Serenity Mortis, Mikayla Mortis, Maya Gilbert, and Brent Harvey Graeter,

Best friends: Scott Hooker, Alvin Hooker, and their families,

And a host of other family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by four siblings, Mary Gilbert, Peggy Gilbert, Cheryl Gilbert, and Bobby Wayne Gilbert, and a couple he treated as parents, Tom and Carolynn Westbay.

Mr. Gilbert chose to be cremated, and those wishes were entrusted to the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Campbellsville.

There will be a public memorial service announced and conducted at a later date.
