Charles L. Bright, formerly of Elk Horn, died at 4:50 A.M., Saturday, May 8, 2021 in Frankfort at the age of 84. He was the son of the late Samuel Allen Bright, Jr. and Edith Helen Phillips Bright. He was born December 9, 1936 in Taylor County, Kentucky.
His faith was important to him, having been raised in Elk Horn Baptist Church and later he attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Frankfort.
Charles was a veteran having served his country with honor in the United States Army.
He was a high school teacher and later, the Director of Business Education for the Kentucky Department of Education for many years. He retired from the Public Service Commission in Frankfort, Kentucky.
Charles was passionate about many things, especially his family and motivating youth to continue their formal education. He began his own education in a two-room schoolhouse in Elk Horn, graduated from Taylor County High School, completed undergraduate work at Campbellsville College and University, and pursued postgraduate work at Eastern Kentucky University and University of Kentucky, attaining a master’s degree and beyond.
He was a loving family member who was passionate about the outdoors, sports, travel, education, music, and dancing. He encouraged his children and extended family to try new forms of activities such as golf, tennis, fishing, boating, skiing, ice skating, swimming, horseback riding, rollerblading, rock climbing, and others. He was dedicated to a healthy lifestyle, remaining active into his late 70s, enjoying downhill skiing in Utah and Colorado. Perhaps his greatest joy was his grandchildren, whom he taught to drive his tractor, shoot a BB gun, play piano, and the basics of the many sports he loved. He was a member of the Lexington Ski Club and the Lexington Cotillion Club, traveling both domestically and internationally with them to ski and dance. He remained a farmer all his life and kept his aging father company by working together on the family farm. He is survived by his two daughters Lissa Suzanne Bright of Las Vegas, Nevada and Leigh Anne Bright of Frankfort; grandchildren Leah Duerren and Aidan James Tucker of Las Vegas; brother George Bright and wife, Floydene of Brentwood, Tennessee; Robert Bright and wife, Donna of Elk Horn; sister Betty Cox of Mannsville; sister Venita Bright and husband, Michael Clark of Frankfort; mother of his children, Betty Jean Bright; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Charles was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Helen Brown.

Mary E. Murphy, 69, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late George Thurman Graham and Zana (Bottoms) Graham, was born on July 20th, 1951, in Madisonville, Kentucky and departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, May 11th, 2021, surrounded by her family at the Taylor Regional Hospital.
She professed her faith in Christ and was of Baptist faith. She lived most of her life in Campbellsville, Kentucky.
Mary was known to her family, friends, and throughout the community as a very loving mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She was the kind of person, who showed compassion and empathy to all and this is why she is lovingly known as “Little Momma” to all who knew her.
She worked as a CNA at Metzmeier Nursing Home of Campbellsville, Kentucky and Green Hill Manor in Greensburg, Kentucky, where she continued to show her compassion in caring for others. Mary loved to listen to music and sing. She had compassion for gardening and generally loved being outdoors with her flowers and listening to the birds. She especially had a love for hummingbirds.
Survived by one son: George Henry Colvin of LaGrange, Kentucky.
One daughter-in-law: Jeannie Colvin of Campbellsville, Kentucky.
Six grandchildren: Brandon Colvin and wife Lauren of Prospect, Kentucky; Amanda Colvin of Campbellsville, Kentucky; Stormy Hall and husband Derick of Knifley; Austin Colvin and wife Katelyn of Campbellsville, Kentucky; Haley Colvin of Cave City; and Paisley Powell of Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
Nine great-grandchildren.
Three brothers: Bobby Graham and wife Connie of Las Vegas, Nevada; Carl Graham of Campbellsville, Kentucky; and Dwight Graham and wife Cula of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
One special aunt: Corrine Sublett of Campbellsville, Kentucky.
Along with many other family, friends, and relatives.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by one son: Johnny Lee Colvin and two brothers: George Lewis Graham and Edmund Monroe Graham.
VISITATION: A walk-through visitation will be held Thursday, May 13th, 2021, from 6pm-8pm EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, May 14th, 2021, at 2pm EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville. Bro. Raymon Hollins will be officiating the funeral service.
PALLBEARERS: Brandon Colvin, Austin Colvin, Mikey Graham, Dwight Graham, Lonnie Fry, Jr., and Derick Hall.

Joann Gill of Campbellsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Johnny W. Maupin and Audrey Hord Maupin, was born on May 16th, 1946, in Taylor County, Kentucky.
She departed this life peacefully on Saturday, May 8th, 2021, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, Kentucky surrounded by her loving family.
Joann professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Temple.
She worked and retired from Campbellsville Housing Authority after thirty years.
She is survived by two sons: Kerry Gill of Campbellsville and Greg Gill and fiancé Amanda Durham of Campbellsville; along with three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Survived by one brother and one sister: Tommy Maupin of Campbellsville and Lisa Gray of Lebanon.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by one brother: J.D. Maupin.
A walk-through visitation will be held from 5pm-8pm EST, Wednesday, May 12th, 2021, at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.
Burial to follow at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Elda May Larimore Allen of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Delmer Larimore and Lottie Wright Larimore, was born March 7, 1928 in Bluff Boom, Kentucky. She died at 6:25 A.M., Saturday, May 8, 2021 in Campbellsville. Age: 93
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.
Elda was an outstanding seamstress with an exceptional eye for detail.
She united in marriage to Joe M. Allen October 4, 1954. He preceded her in death December 25, 2001.
Elda is survived by two step-sons and one step-daughter: Ronnie Allen and wife, Brenda and Eddie Krug and wife, Kay all of Campbellsville and Carol Lasko of Ohio; ten grandchildren; one brother and three sisters: Morris Larimore and wife, Anita and Rachel Hammon and husband, John, Francis Free and Bernice Bennett all of Indiana; several nieces and nephews and many other friends and relatives. Elda was preceded in death by one brother; Edward Larimore.

Christy Gail Jolly, the daughter of James Edward and Brenda Gail (Swanson) Flatt of Columbia, was born July 1, 1078 in Seymour, Indiana and departed this life on Saturday in Campbellsville at her home after a battle with cancer. She was 42 years of age.
She enjoyed shopping, music, hunting for mushrooms (dryland fish) and spending time with her kids and was of the Christian Faith.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband: Johnny Jolly of Campbellsville; A daughter and two sons: Dana Jolly and John Jolly both of Campbellsville and Damond Jolly of Elizabethtown; three sisters and a brother: Tamara Eversole, James Flatt, Jr and Jamie Flatt all of Columbia and Malissa Wheeler of Glendale and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Christy Gail Jolly will be Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 12 Noon in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Bland will be officiating
Interment to follow in the Union Cemetery#2 in Glasgow.
Visitation after 10 AM Tuesday until time for the service.

Stephan McKnight, 57, of Fairdale, Kentucky, son of the late William McKnight and Deloris (Hawkins) McKnight, was born October 14th, 1963, in Louisville, Kentucky, and departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, Kentucky.
Mr. McKnight professed his faith in Christ and attended Three Trees Church of Campbellsville.
Stephan worked for General Parking Services in the maintenance department. He loved singing karaoke with his friends. He enjoyed spending his time outside fishing and riding four wheelers.
Stephan leaves to cherish his memory are two daughters and one step-daughter: Tiffany Tucker and her husband, Jeremy of Campbellsville, Kentucky; Ashley Hodges of Louisville, Kentucky; and Michelle Bush of Louisville, Kentucky.
Five grandchildren: Isabella Stout, Andrew Stout, Austin McKnight, Landon Tucker, and Kairi Tucker.
One great-grandchild: Anrianna Zavala.
One brother and two sisters: Ronnie Cape of Taylorsville, Kentucky; Debbie Wathen of Louisville, Kentucky; and Karen McKnight of Louisville, Kentucky.
Besides his parents, Stephan is preceded in death by one brother: Larry Cape.
Along with a host of extended family and friends.
The family chose cremation and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Deborah Lee (Rohe) McMahan of Campbellsville passed from this life on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. Born on January 5, 1958 to the late James and Dorothy (Sensbach) Rohe, she was 63 years, 3 months, and 27 days of age. She had made a profession of faith and was of the Christian faith.
She leaves to mourn her passing:
Her husband of 44 years: Mr. Anthony McMahan of Campbellsville,
Three children: James McMahan and wife Leah of New Albany, Indiana, David McMahan of Campbellsville, and Amber Doty and husband Rusty of Knifley,
Two brothers: Joe Rohe and Bruce Rohe,

She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Rohe, and a sister, Shelia Helm.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. McMahan on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 1:00 PM EST in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Burial will follow in the Lebanon National Cemetery, 20 Hwy 208, Lebanon, KY.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 10:00 AM until time for the service.

Stephen Burris, better known as “Pig” or “Earthquake”, was born May 8, 1958 in Adair County, KY to the late Coakley and Marcella (Janes) Burris and departed this life on January 28, 2021 in Lexington. He was 62 years of age.
He was a truck driver and a member of the Milltown United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Sue Carol (Messinger) Burris and a host of other relatives and friends.

Freddy Lee Carter, of Hodgenville, the son of the late Sidney L. Carter and Lura Atwell Carter Peace, was born October 26, 1949 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 6:03 P.M. in Louisville at the Kindred Hospital with James and Darlene Peace by his side. He was 71 years of age.
Freddy was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army and later became a cook at Fort Knox for many years.
He had a big heart; he loved helping others. He was regularly seen with a cup of coffee and a cigarette. He will be missed by many.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father: James R. Peace, three brothers: Jerry W. Peace, Hugh C. Carter and Tommy A. Carter and two sisters: Betty Alice Carter Page and Janet Carter Martin Edwards.
Freddy is survived by three brothers: James Peace, Jr and wife Darlene of Elizabethtown, James H. Carter and wife Nancy and Robert U. Peace all of Hodgenville; a sister: Shirley Carter Warren and husband Mitchell of Louisville and a host of other relatives and friends.

Orene Mae Sapp Richenburg of Campbellsville, daughter of the late John Green Sapp and Thelma Mae Rose Sapp, was born July 13, 1927 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 9:47 A.M., Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in Campbellsville. Age: 93
She professed faith in Christ at a young age and was a charter member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church. She loved her church, taught Sunday School and GA’s and led many children to Christ.
Orene was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and owner and operator of Margaret Ann’s Flowers in Campbellsville.
She loved cooking and baking for her family.
Orene is survived by one granddaughter, Jeanie Matney and husband, Kerry of Campbellsville; two step-grandchildren: Lisa Burton and Ricky Ray and wife, Peggy of Campbellsville; five great-grandchildren: Austin Matney and wife, Sarah, Autumn Matney, Candice Coulter, Cory Burton and Dustin Burton; two sisters: Margaret Ann Graybeal of Campbellsville and Virgie Suell of Jeffersonville, Indiana; several nieces and nephews and many other friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Gregory Hearon February 23, 2005 and three brothers and two sisters: Tommy Sapp, Clem Sapp, John Sapp, Jr., Avis Carby and Geneva Bright.
