 Mrs. Eula Maxine (Cheatham) Lasley Maddox of Campbellsville was born on March 19, 1925 in the Gadberry community of Adair County to the late Martin and Myrtle (Elliot) Cheatham. She departed this life on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, being 92 years, 7 months, and 17 days of age. She professed faith in Christ at an early age and joined New Zion Baptist Church and later joined Pleasant Run Baptist Church. She united in marriage to Mr. Leonard Lasley, who preceded her in death. Later, she united in marriage to Mr. Henry Maddox, who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Maddox enjoyed helping people and daily encouraged those around her. She loved her family and her church, and took great pleasure in cooking and caring for them. She was a homemaker for several years and a member of the Trace Creek Homemakers Club, but also worked at the State Park and the Community Center of Campbellsville Housing Authority.
Always on the go, she learned how to use a computer at age 80. Mrs. Maddox’s grace and love will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory:

Two siblings: Irene Burks of St. Louis, Missouri, and Owen P. Cheatham and wife Ernestine of Indianapolis, Indiana,
A brother-in-law: J.C. Lasley and wife Bonita of Columbia,
A sister-in-law: Lillie DuVall of Columbia,
A daughter-in-law: Paulette Lasley of Campbellsville,
Seven grandchildren: Everick Lasley and wife Kelly, Leon Lasley, Jr. and wife Tracy, LaVon Lasley, Benita Moreno, Jorge Moreno, Jr., Ricardo Moreno, and Angie Moreno,
Fifteen great-grandchildren:
Seven great-great grandchildren,
A close friend: Kathleen Fletcher of Campbellsville,
And a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. And a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two children: Frieda Lasley and Leon Lasley, Sr., a brother, William “Bill” Cheatham, a sister, Frances Buckner, and a granddaughter, Elisa Lasley.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Maddox on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1:00 PM EST (12:00 PM CST) at the First Baptist Church, 704 E Broadway, Campbellsville, KY. Rev. James Washington will be presiding over the service with Rev. George Nelson delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Lasley Cemetery in Adair County.
The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, November 10, from 5:00-8:00 PM EST (4:00-7:00 PM CST) and on Saturday from 11:00 AM EST (10:00 AM CST) until time for the service.

 Buford “Butch” Abell, son of the late Arnold B. and Edith Mae Mills Abell, was born Friday, November 24, 1939 in Bradfordsville, and departed this life on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 in Louisville at the Norton Suburban Hospital. He was 77 years, 11 months and 8 days of age.
He was a muffler technician for Midas and was of the Christian faith. “Butch”, to whom he was mostly called, was a welder, making sculptures from used mufflers and enjoyed making black wooden shadow figurines. He was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army.
He united in marriage to Irene Coffman, who preceded him in death in 2003.
Survivors include: Seven children: Leonard Abell and wife Wilma of Campbellsville, Victor Abell of Lebanon, Chuch Abell of Indiana, Allen Abell and Laura Abell Lee, both of Iowa, Ada Abell of Harrodsburg and Rebecca Dutill and husband Bob of Florida; three sisters: Donna Reynolds and husband Bill of Upton, Linda Beard and husband Moses and Arnold Thomas Abell and wife Dawn, all of Campbellsville and Edith Ann Rollings of Owingsville; special friends: Delana Stamp and Milford Lowe, both of Merrimac; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Buford “Butch” Abell will be Friday, November 3, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville with burial to follow in the Whited Cemetery in Casey County with full Military Honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation after 10 AM Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the donation of Gideon Bibles or the Whited Cemetery fund, both can be made at the funeral home.

 Donnie J. Wheeler, the son of the late Jay and Ida Mae Loy Wheeler, was born Monday, May 2, 1955 in Columbia and departed this life on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at his home in the Chance Community of Adair County. He was 62 years, 5 months and 25 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Emory Chapel United Methodist Church. Donnie was a farmer and former oil well driller and well serviceman for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers and most of all, his family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter: Melissa Patrick and husband Jeff of Crossville, Tennessee; seven sisters: Jeannie (Kerry) Cox of Mannsville, Linda Hendrickson and husband J.W., Connie Wheeler, Phyllis McHam & spouse Jerry Kearney, Patricia Wheeler, Diane Hatcher and husband Doug and Sandy Wheeler all of Columbia, KY; four grandchildren: Blaine and Colby Pennington, Ambree and Brayden Patrick; his special friends: Herbert and Charlene Turner of Chance and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Donnie J. Wheeler, will be Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 3:00 PM CST at the Emory Chapel United Methodist Church at Chance with burial to follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery in Columbia. Dr. Michelle McHam Perry and Larry Turner will be officiating.
Visitation after 1:00 P.M. CST at the church.

 Bennie, “Foot” Curry, the son of the late Claudie and Lola B Pierce Curry, was born, Thursday, May 1, 1941 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in Campbellsville at his residence.
He was 76 years, 5 months and 24 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pitman Valley Baptist Church. He was a former car salesman for over 25 years and later a salesman at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Bennie enjoyed talking on the CB radio acquiring the name “Big Foot” as his CB handle. He always enjoyed talking to people with a sense of humor and laughing and telling of good jokes.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Kim Curry.
Survivors include his wife: Donna Agee Curry of Campbellsville; a daughter: Rita Stocksdale and husband Skip of Indiana; three sons: Terry Curry of Columbia, James Dean Curry and wife Carlene and David Curry and wife Loretta, all of Somerset; a sister-in-law: Gatha Williams and husband Billy of Russell Springs.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren: Bridget, Brandon, Jasper, Jacob, Jared, Kristen, Chad, Candace, Michael and Jason; 16 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Bennie “Foot” Curry will be conducted Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with Entombment in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Bro. Dannie Nelson and Bro. Ronnie Dooley will be officiating.
Visitation after 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

 Marjorie Hunt, the daughter of the late Omer and Flossie Bohanon, was born Sunday, February 2, 1936 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Saturday, October 21, 2017 in Springfield at the Springfield Nursing and Rehab. She was 81 years, 8 months and 20 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the South Campbellsville Baptist Church. She was a retired retail sales clerk. Marjorie enjoyed reading, puzzle books, her flower garden, knitting , UK Basketball fan and her collection of ceramic frogs that she used as yard decorations and in her flower beds.
She united in marriage to N.T. “Tommy” Hunt, who preceded her in death along with one brother: Garlan Bohanon.
Survivors include her children: Pam Bright and Gary Hunt and wife Marlena all of Campbellsville and Kevin Hunt and wife Christy of Burkesville; a sister: Mae Parker of Monticello; two brothers: Robert Bohanon and wife Sue and Harlan Bohanon and wife Helen, all of Campbellsville.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren: Jason (Robin) Bright, Tammy (Les) Richards, Chrissy (Shawn) Canada, Michael (Laura) Hunt, Cheryl (Kevin) Mings, Rita (Chris) Thompson, Jeremy (Alyssa) Hunt, Katelyn (J.T.) Pruitt, Wesley Hunt and Carly Hunt and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Marjorie Hunt, will be conducted Monday, October 23, 2017 at 10AM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville, with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Don Gowin and Bro. Drew Underwood will be officiating.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
